Avi @ Aug 30th 2007 4:41PM
I just started watching this show on HD DVD via netflix. I definitely recommend this show to anyone, especially for a free try. I think it'll appeal to most people.

Maybe Mika can use his powers to get my 360 to stop it's RROD.
Exceed 3 @ Aug 30th 2007 4:56PM
This episode inspired me to go spend 50 dollars on the DVD. I really recommend it.
UNSCleric @ Aug 30th 2007 5:05PM
Dustin Berg is a virgin? Who would have thought? :)
Stephen @ Aug 30th 2007 5:24PM
Never seen Heroes!!! Dude, I love Heroes but it was kind of weak in the beginning but got MUCH better after the 4th or 5th show. If you start watching hang in there and you'll be hooked.
Bitter Kevin @ Aug 30th 2007 5:46PM
That was an incredible discovery last night- I was amazed at the picture/sound quality from the Xbox into the new SXRD TV and the Sony 5.1. Crystal fucking clear, and so engrossing it was like watching it for the first time. I HAVE to download 300.
Rk @ Aug 30th 2007 5:55PM
Thanks MS for keeping it from us UK 360 owners... this is really starting to annoy me.
Trashman @ Aug 30th 2007 6:03PM
Heroes is good, but Lost is better. Seriously, if you haven't watched Lost, go rent it. I wasn't into it until they started the third season and I decided to go rent it. Watched season one and two in the same month. I was instantly hooked.
MDJ2010 @ Aug 30th 2007 6:39PM
Yeah lost is awesome!!! They have to launch the video marketplace in the UK though, at the moment apart from video game stuff the only videos we have is crap like Robbie Williams videos, hmm I wonder what Id prefer out of them or films and tv shows, now let me think.
Iliad Force @ Aug 30th 2007 6:43PM
Yeah, I had the same experience: the HD version of this episode was stunning in its quality (unlike, say, the Zodiac HD trailer--movie rocks, though, and you should definitely rent it on XBLM).
Trashman @ Aug 30th 2007 6:53PM
Im glad you think so to MDJ2010. The whole story arc is so deep. Heroes is deep, but not as deep as Lost. Im not bashing on heroes cause I like it.
Blaggers @ Aug 30th 2007 7:09PM
@ UNSCleric: Seriously man, fuck you, he seems like a perfectly nice guy and doesn't deserve to be made fun of like that.
On topic: Heroes is friggin' awesome, but it's a shame that the free HD episode is being withheld from the UK. Can anybody with the HD-DVD set comment whether or not it is worth the extra money for the HD version? I never really imagined something like Heroes looking that different in HD.
zourskittles @ Aug 30th 2007 7:55PM
Blaggers, could you not see it was just a joke. I really do hope you did cause you got a little angry over that. Either way UNSCleric was talking about "Dustin Berg" not Dusting Burg so unless you know this "Dustin Berg" than I suggest you dont get so angry.
VampireHunter Z @ Aug 30th 2007 7:58PM
I always watched Heroes in HD when the first season aired. It looked great but I missed the first few episodes. I normally watch it over the air so there is some video compression. I'm downloading now. Hopefully this direct feed have even deeper colors.
Gemini Ace @ Aug 30th 2007 8:12PM
Heroes sucks! If I act like I'm constipated, I can stop time?
And every time I bludgeon a cheerleader over the head, they stay dead.

I saw the whole season in HD and it was awesome... You might as well get the HD if you have the HD player... I think amazon is running a decent deal on it too.

Honestly, what does Microsoft have against Canada? Maybe because we're smarter than these damn Americans.

I really should look into getting the HD player for this.
ChiefQ8 @ Aug 31st 2007 1:22AM
I love Heroes..I can't wait to see season 2
Boff @ Aug 31st 2007 6:42AM
I didn't even check for this last night as I'm assuming it's US only as usual?
Nick Spacek @ Aug 31st 2007 7:48AM
Yeah, Lost hooked me too, I watched Season 1 and 2 and got right into it, except... that... it started sucking! Sorry, that's just my opinion. Anyways, I'm sure it would be great to go and watch on DVD or something, and blaze through the slow episodes (which there were a lot of).
Heroes is great, interesting to see the character development. Speaking of character development, if anyone is looking for a new manga/anime check out Kekkaishi, it has very interesting characters with a lot of personality.
lfegerber @ Aug 31st 2007 12:26PM
ONCE you watch anything in a HD-DVD player..there is absolutely no going back. i would say that makes the hd-dvd player a good investment...plus it isn't expensive at all compared to other high def players. Honestly....i remember when DVD first came out...i didn't think it was that big of a deal. i mean...i thought VHS quality was fine....and how much could dvd have improved that? well....obviously....once i watched dvd..i couldn't go back to vhs. that's how much of a difference HD-DVD is for me...like black and white
James @ Aug 31st 2007 4:40PM
Does anybody know how much these downloads are going to cost per episode? And can you get them in a bundle (e.g., the whole season for a set price)?
I was going that say that charging per-episode is preposterous when you can buy the whole season on disc... then I looked at Amazon and saw the the HD DVD lists for *$100* and is discounted down to $70, which appears to be competitive with the rest of the Internet. So $70 / 23 episodes = ~$3 per episode, which is what I expected to have to pay on XBLM (but I can't find this info anywhere online). I think that's completely crazy -- I know you own them forever and all, but come on.
Forget for the moment that even before the DVD was released, I could make my own recording of the HD broadcasts. I could rent 3 Redbox movies for that much, and that's ~6 hours of entertainment. Am I going to watch each episode 6 or 7 times? I mean, I guess some people can afford to pay a premium for entertainment -- some people still go to the movies at $10 a pop -- but I for one can find much better values for my entertainment budget.
mitch @ Sep 4th 2007 9:36PM
hmmm...I can't seem to find it anywhere.
