We knew that there were fanboys out there who loved their limited edition
Halo 3 branded Mountain Dew Game Fuel, but we didn't think there was anyone that loved it this much. Over on the
Microsoft Is Awesome blog (we're not kidding, that's the name of the website) the three man crew posted picture proof of their 444 cans of Game Fuel that they've stockpiled due to its limited nature and because they can't imagine being without the liquid sugar when it leaves us in a few months. They are also challenging anyone to beat their Game Fuel survival stash. Who's up for getting 777 Game Fuel cans stacked up to the ceiling fan?
[Thanks,
Arcaynn]

$700 of soda?(444*1.5+tax)
this clearly indicates you have a caffeine problem of the biggest sort.
they better hope they have a caffeine detox plan once they finish, or that those cans don't have an experation date.
Grindstone @ Aug 31st 2007 12:19PM
Well this helps explain why I can't seem to find any. Hording pricks...
WarriorDyke @ Aug 31st 2007 12:19PM
no wonder it took almost 3 weeks to find the stuff in Virginia....

Hello adult-onset diabetes....damn that's a lot of cola
Mauricio @ Aug 31st 2007 12:23PM
holy shit, thats alot of soda.
Mark @ Aug 31st 2007 12:27PM
I have 5 cases of it stocked up...444 cans is just insane. Plus, the data of expiration says 11-4-07. They better start drinking it!
Michael Paul @ Aug 31st 2007 12:30PM
I really REALLY wish they had thought of us who need a diet drink. I can hoard with the best of them to use it up in case they ever do this kind of thing again...
Neon Jebus @ Aug 31st 2007 12:30PM
I hope they rethink the limited nature of the drink. Perhaps the demand from the customer will help it make a comeback much like their Livewire did.
I had a bottle though I don't drink non-diet soda and it was great. Reminded me of a carbonated cherry flavor ice pop. If it was a constant version I could get my loving diet version!

Someone will be getting free Halo 3 merchandise..
nerrrrrrd @ Aug 31st 2007 12:44PM
I won't take their challenge to beat their # of cans but I will challenge their sanity. oh well, I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Anticrawl @ Aug 31st 2007 12:45PM
I have a case and it tastes like and looks like antifreeze. Who wants it? I just wanted to keep a can as a collectors item. I need a diet version if I really wanna drink it. They have tons of supply where I live, noone buys it.
Dragod @ Aug 31st 2007 12:49PM
My stack looks similar... Though all the cans are empty.
Dragod @ Aug 31st 2007 12:54PM
Grant, You need to do your math again. A 12-pack is under $4.00. (444/12=37) 37 12-packs x $4= is $148. And it's even less than $4. I believe I got mine for around $3.50 which would make it $129.50
ArchEnemy20 @ Aug 31st 2007 1:00PM
Guess it depends where ya get them at. A case at my 7-11 was $4.99.
Injulen @ Aug 31st 2007 1:03PM
Yeah, I can get 12 packs at Wal-Mart for 2.50 plus deposit, which makes it 3.10 which with tax is like $120. I could easily go make a bigger stock pile... and I would too. (Game Fuel is amazing!! LIQUID GUMMY BEARS!!) But my mother would never let me have that much soda in my room lmao.
typoink @ Aug 31st 2007 1:07PM
To the people asking for a diet version: are you crazy? This is the sweetest, sugariest soda I have ever tasted, bar none. It basically tastes like carbonated, liquified sugar. I can understand the desire for diet sodas that actually have flavors, but this stuff would be like drinking liquified, carbonated aspartame, and I can't imagine a less appealing flavor.
Anyways, this stuff's awful. It's a cute marketing tie-in, but I sure hope it stays limited edition. There's better high-caffeine sodas out there.
baby sea tuna @ Aug 31st 2007 1:13PM
I just threw up in my mouth.
Dragod @ Aug 31st 2007 1:12PM
Besides... Diet soda is worse for you than normal soda... It's a choice between gaining weight and having some kind of medical problem that I forget what it is...
But also, on WebMD there's an article about how if you drink Diet Soda, you're more likely to be obese.
russdogg @ Aug 31st 2007 1:54PM
Ah, WebMD. the fast and easy way to radically misdiagnose yourself! Diet soda is still way better than taking in that much sugar, its just that studies show if you drink Diet you need to be more conscious of your caloric intake. In other words, drinking soda is not the same as actually being on a diet! You can't slam a whole bucket of the Colonel's Extra Crispy and wash it down with a diet and call it good.
Mauricio @ Aug 31st 2007 1:50PM
actually, Gamefuel is pretty good. if you like Mountain Dew (and who doesn't). Besides anything 'Diet' just tastes weird.
Philpott @ Aug 31st 2007 1:57PM
I thought my 2 liter of Gamefuel tasted like Orange Chapstick.
Virtua Fanboy @ Aug 31st 2007 1:59PM
Man I can't freakin STAND the taste of that stuff. I would've been happy with normal MD w/cooler cans.
0ldb0y @ Aug 31st 2007 2:00PM
777? Bungie likes.
dishwasher @ Aug 31st 2007 2:02PM
I was saving a unopened can of this on my desk but this story made me want to drink it.
Dragod @ Aug 31st 2007 2:05PM
Well, it's not really The diet soda... It's artificial sweeteners... Stuff like Splenda kills your body... Or so says my Brother In-law (He's a chef who's studied foods for several, several years) So I'm not exactly sure if that's completely correct... But I trust him a lot. Though he does have his strange conspiracy theories, too. xD
Mauricio @ Aug 31st 2007 2:09PM
HAhAhA .Orange Chapstick. that's awesome.

Anticrawl, WTF! Why are your drinking antifreeze?!!? Man, I know life is tough, but there are better ways to go about this...
I still can't find any game fuel. How will I ever play this Halo 3 without it?

My teeth ache thinking about all that yellow sugar soda.

I love that the blog is said to be unbiased yet the title is "Microsoft Is Awesome".
I got $5 that says they don't drink it all before it expires.
stephen @ Sep 1st 2007 7:58AM
yesterday i decided i would try some of this stuff. I was expecting it to be terrible but i thought it was really good. i was so pumpmed i spent at least 7 hours playing halo 2
kornchild2002 @ Sep 1st 2007 12:22PM
I have about 20 12 packs sitting in the garage right now along with 20 2 liter bottles. The bottles say that they expire this December but the cans will last up until January and February. I just wanted to get enough to last me through this fall. I hate how Mountain Dew (ie Pepsi Co) always does these limited flavors. My favorite was Pitch Black but they took that off the market, then they came out with Pitch Black II but I didn't like it as much.
I guess they like making a good soda for limited times.

kornchild2002 i like how u think about taking off the limited flavors it sucks with out em because they take em off the market but seriousley i also liked pitch black but i cant find it any more and ive never had pitch black II but seriousley i think thatgame fuel is so addicting my parents dont like me drinking soda (but im not fat) bcause its not good for u
and i think its true that it does bring your stamina down but mountain dew is the best for PITCH BLACK and GAME FUEL. both of thse sodas pwn dont u think. they were always my favorite all of those limited editions but i really would hate how they take em off the market. maybe it costs tomuch for those flavors and stuff they add to it.
