Power Stone XBLA dreams deferred
Way back in September of 2006, we ran a brief series called "That Should Be on XBLA." In that series, we suggested old games that would make a great addition to Xbox Live Arcade. One such game was Capcom's neglected Dreamcast fighter, Power Stone. Earlier this week, Microsoft announced not one, but two Dreamcast games that would be making their way to XBLA, namely Rez and Ikaruga. This got the folks over at The Xbox Domain thinking. If they can stick those Dreamcast classics on Xbox 360, why not Power Stone (or even better, Power Stone 2)? Just to satisfy their curiosity, The Xbox Domain contacted Capcom about the idea, and received this disheartening response:"We have not made any announcements about a Power Stone game, but thanks for your interest."
While the comment was followed by a smiley face, we aren't smiling. Still, it's not an outright "no," and that gives fans something to hope for, right?

Powerstone 1 should be a must. Not much of a favorite for the 2nd, didn't like the zoom out on multi-play but what about size limits? The current limit of 150 mb wouldn't be enough when DC games used a gig disc. MS needs to raise the limits so we could get some classics like Powerstone and Crazy Taxi.

Hmm, hopefully this message is code for "PowerStone 3 is in development."
@bigd7387, just because DC disks could hold up to a gig doesn't mean all games for the system used the full space on the disk :) If memory serves the original crazy taxi wasn't more than 200MB or so, maybe smaller... CT3 on Xbox was just over 300MB, and that contained maps, car and driver models/animations/voices/etc from CT1 & 2 as well... I'll second the let's get some flavor of crazy taxi on XBLA vote for sure!
Also... are you nuts? Powerstone 2 had 4 player... that alone is a massive improvement over the first game.

Powerstone was awesome, but the DC game we really need on XBLA is 'Chu-Chu Rocket'... It would sooooo sweet with online multiplayer.

ROFL at this article. What did you think capcom was gonna do? Confirm the game to be in exsistance?
Capcom employee: "Hey boss, we just got an e-mail from 'The Xbox Domain' asking if power stone is in development for XBLA."
Capcom boss: "Well since they asked, I guess we will reveal the exsistance of the project to them. Lets just cancel our planned announcment for later this year."
Seriously. If capcom was making a Powerstone 1 or 2 for XBLA (lets hope they are) they are not gonna tell some site when they email them asking whether they are making it or not.

I didn't like Power Stone 2 as much - the morphing levels were just frustrating, to me. Still, the 4-player would probably be better for Live than the one-on-one of the original.
