Arno @ Sep 16th 2007 12:59PM
There's only one (no pun intended) Metallica song?
AL7AIR @ Sep 16th 2007 12:59PM
This list needs more cowbell :P
GazzaScotland @ Sep 16th 2007 1:01PM

Guy4 @ Sep 16th 2007 1:37PM
I too was wondering if I was going to buy Rockband AND this. I can finally say, yes.
LiquidM3taL @ Sep 16th 2007 1:38PM
i am just pissed if this truly is final
they toyed around with bullet for my valentine for the longest time
Bullet is by far today one of the most talented bands on the planet and they have some truly amazing guitar solos
If Bullet For My Valentine does not make it into the final game, i will be very disappointed, but i will still buy as i am a HUGE guitar hero junkie
Everyone cross your fingers and chant "4 Words (to Choke Upon)
JBurton90 @ Sep 16th 2007 1:56PM
How is T.D.W.D.T.G. the encore of them all?
I hear no guitar! Listen below.

@LiquidM3tal.
Man. You just want to be flamed dont you?
I wont do it myself because this is a gaming blog and not a music taste blog but...
Yeh...
Good luck with that one.
OwningXylophone @ Sep 16th 2007 2:05PM
@18
I guess it will be the Primus Version of T.D.W.D.T.G, that has plenty of guitar in...
Edgar N, @ Sep 16th 2007 2:06PM
if this is the true set list, this is gonna be an AWESOME game. Rockband who??
Aglet @ Sep 16th 2007 2:35PM
Cliffs of Dover = instabuy
And I really hope it's not the Primus version of T.D.W.D.T.G
Aglet @ Sep 16th 2007 2:37PM
Sorry for the double post but I have to add that this kinda makes me wish all those would have been on Rock Band instead.
Banana Kid @ Sep 16th 2007 2:46PM
Not a huge fan of the songs we don't already know, if this is true. The one thing that does cast some doubt--where's the Velvet Revolver song? The band came out and said they had a song in the game, and you'd think Slash would push for that as much as he could. And no Audioslave to double up on Tom Morello?
Plus, Knights of Cydonia is not an encore, which kind of pisses me off. I don't believe it.
Otis Whitaker @ Sep 16th 2007 2:47PM
Pat Benatar- Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Co-op Encore: Beastie Boys- Sabotage
Alice Cooper- School's Out
Heart- Barracuda
Black Sabbath- Paranoid
Co-op Encore: Blue Oyster Cult- Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll
Scorpions- Rock You Like a Hurricane
Slayer - Raining Blood
Iron Maiden- Number of the Beast
Metallica- One
Encore: The Devil Went Down to Georgia
Only good songs in that list.
This list is horrible. Still no frigging Viking Metal. Nothing epic at all.
Worse yet, they added even more crappy emo pop music... and ALSO.. I figured with Harmonix gone, we'd lose Freezepop, and we did :( I love Freezepop. Their song was my favorite in GH2, because it was so unique, and not guitary.
jose_edwaldo @ Sep 16th 2007 2:48PM
There's no Velvet Revolver on that list. There were at least 2 VR tracks confirmed, were there not?
Dave @ Sep 16th 2007 3:25PM
Motherfucking SLAYER!
Cody @ Sep 16th 2007 3:26PM
what happened to the 2 velvet revolver songs? something tells me this isnt all true
phantomgrave @ Sep 16th 2007 4:01PM
OMG YES Iron Maiden(again) and Slayer FTW!
Iced_Eagle @ Sep 16th 2007 4:08PM
Not a bad list!! :D
Joe @ Sep 16th 2007 4:13PM
Why the fuck isn't Knights of Cydonia the encore? Seriously, it's easily a better choice than Cult of Personality. If that's true I'm pissed.
Only new songs I'm excited for are Sunshine of your Love and Kool Thing. Slayer sucks ass, and so does Poison, but 3's and 7's will be awesome.
Zack11190 @ Sep 16th 2007 4:29PM
This isn't real. According to the GHIII Wikipedia page, an AudioSlave song and an Atreyu song have both been confirmed. Neither one of them is on that list.
CHINESE BABON @ Sep 16th 2007 4:55PM
SLIPKNOT! DISTURBED! KSE!CHARLIE DANIELS BAND! AWESOME!
Intellectualdiot @ Sep 16th 2007 5:08PM
I wish I could be excited about this proliferation of metal bands, but I just can't. As much as I want to like them, I don't.
But the addition of The Fall of Troy is a long desired one for me. It isn't the song that I would have chosen, but it should be incredibly fun to play.
And it's hard to find fault with a set list that has Raining Blood in it. Brilliant.
iNZoW @ Sep 16th 2007 5:23PM
RISE AGAINST !!! YEA !!!!!
bus33boy @ Sep 16th 2007 5:31PM
Cliffs of Dover? Holy Sh!t!!
Now, if they could just get Summer Song by Satriani . . .
GerbilTheMonkey @ Sep 16th 2007 5:35PM
Once you get Fall of Troy in a game you know it's gonna be awesome...
jc @ Sep 16th 2007 6:00PM
What the hell happened to Pantera?!?!?!?! That was the whole reason I bought guitar hero!!!!!
They were supposed to include them or have them as DLC...... I mean I got the Dimebag achivement but no pantera songs?!?!?! Hmmmm..........................................................
Matt G @ Sep 16th 2007 6:01PM
Something is wrong with the list. There has to be Velvet Revolver's "She builds quick machines". Slash said himself in an interview that the game will have that song.
Trashman @ Sep 16th 2007 6:23PM
Rise against! FUNK YEAH! This guys kick major ass live
NoVA @ Sep 16th 2007 7:47PM
All you people looking for the VR song, look no further than:
Boss: Slash- Guitar Battle.
Dur dur dur.
mikeshea @ Sep 16th 2007 7:55PM
@LiquidM3tal
...wow.
just wow.
OMGz dey r da best rite beside Linkin parks
lolol
Epyon83 @ Sep 16th 2007 8:19PM
IMHO totaly BAD list, i own GH2 and alot of these songs sucked too..... too old stuff and stuff not a single european does now... i will go with rockband!
Banana Kid @ Sep 16th 2007 8:21PM
NoVA: That's an original song by Slash, not She Builds Quick Machines. So, it doesn't count.
Hobo Joe @ Sep 16th 2007 10:37PM
Wait wait wait.
I have to play co-op to unlock certain songs? That sucks; I have no friends.
sean @ Sep 17th 2007 12:03AM
FAKE!!!
they announced velvet revolver to be in the game, but its not there
anton @ Sep 17th 2007 1:34AM
those boss battles arent that impressive. SRV should be a boss with pride and joy or with little wing
Hey Apples @ Sep 17th 2007 2:58AM
You can really tell a new team is in charge of the setlist... no instrumentals, very heavily weighted toward loud rock and metal. Where's the Texas Flood? Frankenstein? Jessica? Crossroads?
It's GUITAR hero... not rock hero, not metal hero.
Don't get me wrong, there's some first rate selections in the list, but part of the appeal of GH1 and 2 was the balanced selection of genres.
BitChain @ Sep 17th 2007 4:41AM
Killswitch Engage FTW! Excellent :)
Tony @ Sep 17th 2007 9:59AM
I'm glad to see Sonic Youth. I have no plans on getting this one, although the track listing is making it hard. If Rockband has some songs from some of these groups I'll be happy.
