TGS WTF trailer: Rainy Woods

It's something of a tradition really. When TGS rolls around, westerners are exposed to games they never knew existed, many of them inevitably very strange to non-Japanese gamers. As such, we bring you the first of (hopefully) many TGS WTF trailers. This trailer is for a game titled Rainy Woods. It's actually not strange in the typical Japanese way. No, this is strange in a David Lynch / The Shining kind of way. Featuring grisly murder, skull-shaped gas masks, and strange little men apparently sitting in vibrating chairs, Rainy Woods has us intrigued to say the very least. Don't take our word for it though, watch the video and judge for yourself.

Very little of it struck me as something that would be played similarly to Silent Hill or RE, but I could be wrong about it. Seemed almost more like a detective story or something. Could be interesting, kind of reminded me of Twin Peaks.

Yeah, looks like someone took story elements of Saw, Shining and Twin Peaks and threw them in a blender. Then put it in motion on a PS2 engine.

BTW, Red Tree is actually Eertder in a mirror.

Graphics definitely aren't up to par, but it actually looks pretty interesting.

Looks really creepy. Love it! Oh, and to the IDIOTS who say something along the lines of "another generic--" Did you even watch the trailer? What generic creepy-girl-who-died-in-a-well-with-long-hair character did you see that I didn't? The game looks like a breath of fresh air in a very freaky David Lynch sort of way. :)

If its not a fps or funded by microsoft its deemed crap apparently. We don't even know what gameplay stly is. graphics oculd be improved though you should see it in HD it looks alright.

That's how much this game rips off TWIN PEAKS. I've spotted Agt. Cooper, Deputy Andy, Sheriff Truman, Laura Palmer, etc... Even the locale is similar.

Which isn't a bad thing, really, considering there's never been a Peaks game... I'll be getting this!

Looks like a game made by Japanese people who like American horror movies. Blatant rip off of 'The Shining' with the freaky twins. Rips off 'Saw' with the girl in the trap. Inspiration, is inspiration just pointing it out. Either way, it doesn't look very good.

I am so tired of people bitching about games, its not original, it should be better. Shut up. If you want to bitch, complain about waking up and reading this. Its not original, well neither are you, you are just a rehash of someone elses seed so give it up. You want to complain get out there and make a difference and make a game, and do not give me the crap of < oh well i am a designer, then change it.
