Shipping this week: finish the wait edition

Well, kiddies, here we are. While a select few have managed to snag a copy early, the vast majority of gamers will be picking up their copy of Halo 3 this week. A good number of those gamers will be standing in line tonight at midnight (including us) to get it as soon as humanly possible. Yes, Halo fans will finally get their sweet, sweet nectar, while the Halo haters will finally get some respite from the terrible beast. We'd love to tell you that this means the end of non-stop Halo coverage on X3F, but don't count on it.
But enough Halo 3! After all, it's not the only game coming out this week. Why, just look at all these other fine games:
- CSI Hard Evidence
- Hot Wheels Beat That
- World Series of Poker: Battle
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance Enhanced: Platinum Hits

What's Enhanced about Ultimate Alliance? Did they add in the DLC or something?

I was thinking more along the lines of Dead or Alive Extreme. The game has only been out for a year and that look would be priceless.

i'm thinking of picking it up, just because of how brutal and non-competitive Texas Hold'em XBLA has become with the any-idiot-can-do-it glitching to cheat their way up the leaderboards

I wonder how much Hot Wheels'll be...if its something like $20, I'd be willing to pick it up, but not if it's a full $60.
And of course, there's Halo 3. The game that will eat my soul.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a total blur for me. I remember nothing about that game except that it was easy and boring. Do you get Daredevil in the plat hits version? You have to unlock him in the version I have. I never got around to it. Daredevil needs his own damn game.

I'm going to p/u some Burger King and head to gamestop and show off my MC french fries and drink at 11pm. I'm not sure if I should watch the cinematics from Halo 1 and Halo 2 or just start playing campaign. hmm decisions decisions...

is the collectors Edition worth it? Can anyone tell me what it provides over the regular beyond the metal case which is nice.

okay I just got off the phone with circuit city and I am pissed.. at myself and a little at the web site for recommending to PRE-order it to get this stupid master chief poster. Now I have to wait an extra week almost just to get the frickin game and since the order is already processed I can't just come in and pick it up at midnight tonight. why don't they ship the game early so it arrives to your place at 9/25? wow listen to me I neede my halo 3.

Yes - you get the Beastiaries book, which is supposed to have a lot of nice artwork in it.

best look i've received was when i asked for Halo 2 on sunday. OH MY GOD did i get the strangest looks from the best buy people, and subsequently at game stop. that is a moment i will treasure.

My 360 had the red rings last week, I got my box yesterday to ship it to them to get it fixed, so I guess I'm the only one who will be playing Mario Party 8 while everyone else is finishing the fight. I swear I have the worst luck in the world. I would go out and buy another 360, but I have to save the cash since we have a baby girl on the way (due November). I'm still trying to convince the wife that Cortana is a good name :)
