While we were busy covering the frenzy of the Halo 3 launch yesterday, it seems some other game news was also being covered. Yeah, we're as surprised as you. But lo and behold, it looks like Guitar Hero III is pulling out the big guns for its impending battle with Rock Band. Activision revealed yesterday that the remaining members of the Sex Pistols will reunite to rerecord "Anarchy in the UK" for Guitar Hero III. The master tapes of the original recording have been lost, thus necessitating the need to rerecord the tracks. We have to admit, with so many great tracks heading to Guitar Hero III, the decision between Rock Band and GHIII is getting more difficult every day.
why make a decision? i'm getting both. gh3 without the guitar and rock band with all of the instruments. i had gh1 and gh2 for the ps2 and rebought gh2 for the 360 just for the few extra songs and the "promise" of plenty of downloadable content. i'm crazy like that.
@ #2 sid wasn't on the original recording of 'anarchy in the u.k.' he replaced glen matlock after they recorded their only album. they have reunited with glen matlock, thus being the exact same sex pistols that recorded the song/album in the first place.
so is the guitar hero 2 guitar for the 360 going to work for guitar hero 3 for the 360? i sure hope so as i am happy with that guitar and don't want to drop another 90 bucks on a game......albeit a really fun game......
@#2 Sid Couldn't f'n play anyway! He friggin asked Lemmy from Motorhead to teach him how to play Bass and that is while he was already with the band. During Live Shows Sid would not even play really instead a prerecorded track was played. Check Wiki. Sid was only there for show.
Of course you can play GH3 with the GH2 guitar.....they're just glorified controllers anyway. Getting back to what I was going to originally say, oh yea..This isn't that great of an addition to GH3 anyway..

@5 I don't see why not. In earlier builds of the game when people were demo'ing the game they were using the GH2 guitars.
