im torn between this being on my top 10 most subtle easter eggs ever or my top 10 least relevant while however somewhat adding the story easter eggs of all time.....
DemonG @ Sep 28th 2007 5:26PM
Put it on both. Thats actually pretty cool.
Phil @ Sep 28th 2007 5:43PM

Phil @ Sep 28th 2007 5:44PM
I love Bungie
Fontez @ Sep 28th 2007 5:54PM
I'm sorry guys but this is just gay...
I love the game but dude... That was a waste of time...
I rather have a few more extra leaves instead of that...
or a few more ripples in the water...
Hell even some extra shells falling out of my SMG...
quite a redundant feature... I must say...
russdogg @ Sep 28th 2007 6:16PM
weak sauce
Allanx @ Sep 28th 2007 6:02PM
Dude, the SMG is caseless. It's not supposed to eject shell casings because it doesn't have any. The rounds are a solid block of propellant with a bullet in the middle and no brass encasing it.
Mauricio @ Sep 28th 2007 6:02PM
yeah, thats pretty fuckin weak. one could also mistake it for "Battle Damage" from boucing around, shooting guns and blowing stuff up.
since we're on the subject of little things...
why is it that Master Chief, with all his armor on, can float like a feather in water?
Seems to me that his armor would be pretty heavy and thus can not float in water.
i saw my body float away in a MP match and thought "WTF, that cant be right"
a.j. @ Sep 28th 2007 6:03PM
@5...always one person to complain about every post. ever.
Josh @ Sep 28th 2007 6:10PM
@8 good point about the floating in water. i never thought about that
i think it's a neat easter egg, though i probably would have never noticed either
Sunny @ Sep 28th 2007 6:21PM
@7: He can probably float for the same reason he can jump like 7 feet in the air and float down like a leaf in the breeze.
He's a witch! =[
Greg @ Sep 28th 2007 6:24PM
@7
Not to sound like a total nerd, but I believe per the Halo novels, that the suits have a system that, though very heavy, allows them to float. I forget what it was supposed to be though, it was a couple months back on a plane ride that I was reading it.
If I remember correctly though, there was someone struggling to get their armor off as they were sinking because that aspect of the suit was malfunctioning. I could be totally wrong though.
Mauricio @ Sep 28th 2007 6:29PM
that flood infected grass would have looked alot better in 1080p...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURN!
/ducks
sorry, im bored at work wasting time til 5-o'clock rolls around
Fontez @ Sep 28th 2007 6:45PM
LMFAO !! That was a good one !!

Nice one haha
Magic Whiskey @ Sep 28th 2007 7:00PM
Go down into the caves in Infection..it sounds like you're walking on wet, used diapers.
Well..it DOES!
erivera3 @ Sep 28th 2007 9:15PM
Fontez is disappointed? Now I don't know what to think anymore. Halo 3 is the most enriched video game experience I've ever had the pleasure to play through. There should be no complaining, ESPECIALLY from my man fontez, especially when there are great games out there that don't do even half of the things Halo 3 does, and does incredibly well at that.
Aero @ Sep 29th 2007 10:06AM
I was expecting Infection forms to come out if you burst all those things underground
Joop @ Sep 28th 2007 9:22PM
@7&12
In the campaign level right before you meet up with Keyes, there is a dam-like structure with a lake. If you try and take a swim, you sink like a rock. I'd guess it has nothing to do with Halo canon and everything to do with the physics engine lowering the weight value of corpses so that explosions fling them around more dramatically.
YoRone22 @ Sep 28th 2007 11:28PM
Hey look at that. Invisionfree.
David W. @ Sep 28th 2007 11:37PM
Am I the only one having problems joining friends games? Every time I receive an invite and I hit accept it says some babble about having incompatible networks.
JustPlainMean @ Sep 29th 2007 12:58AM
@20 You have to have friends first :)
David W. @ Sep 29th 2007 1:06AM
haha which I do :) hence the invites

Yeah Halo 3 suck! I mean Halo 3 Suck! uh um Yeah Halo 3 suck! Nah it really suck can't see any good in it, disc scratched and RING OF DEATH Are BACK AGAIN, I meant AGAIN I thought master chief can rescue it But that didn't solve it probably X-box 360 suck for life include the elite why Microsoft even thought of creating a console that it cannot barely last for 24 hours, can't wait for this game to hit PC cause it suck on X-box 360 RING OF DEATH keep haunting me all the TIME. I'm really scared of it now and I'm not planning to repair or buy another dam x-box 360 of it shit customer service, microsoft even tell me off and say give 120 buck to them and they'll fix, yeah right fuck that.
I rather enjoy playing crysis and Bioshock on PC than the shit x-box 360 that Microsoft have been ripping me off all these years FUCK MICROSOFT AND FUCK X-BOX 360 for life
Gronar @ Sep 29th 2007 2:29AM
BC. Bouyancy compensator. If your Mjolnir armor is missing it, you need a new field tech.
tastybytes @ Sep 29th 2007 2:29AM
i dont understand why people wouldnt be returning this game in droves.. choppy gameplay, poor visuals.. average graphics.. bad controls.. rote storyline and gameplay.. i liked the first one.. but couldnt they have just erased the 2 and put a three and saved a lot of time and money? i returned mine because the multiplay is just plain STUPID.. headshots not killing people.. a tap on the chest kills someone in one hit???!! i am most angry with the fact that i contributed money to a typical microsoft media campaign which focuses more on the marketing than the product.. halo 3 is like a vista.. lots of cool promises falling way short in implementation.. sad really.. i was really looking forward to multiplayer..
lee @ Sep 29th 2007 2:44AM
@25 where do you buy your games? my store won't let me take it back just because i don't like it :(
tastybytes @ Sep 29th 2007 2:54AM
@27.. the "security" stickers can be opened without breaking them.. u only really have to do it on one side.. not something you want to do all the time.. but for games that im buying "mostly" sight unseen.. i usually take precautions.. i dont mind playing for a good game.. but i do mind getting ripped off..
Maxwell @ Sep 29th 2007 8:09AM
People don't like halo 3? Some people don't like chocolate cake, free money, or sleeping in on weekends too, I guess.
Weird.
Token White Guy @ Sep 29th 2007 10:17AM
I think a banning is in order for Mr.X for being a dipshit (a 10 year old punk). Everyone say yay or nay. Yay!
Jon @ Sep 29th 2007 11:49AM
um ghey
edsmit1 @ Sep 29th 2007 1:28PM
This is just a perfect example of the over hypness of this game. We're supposed to get excited about some freakin MOSS GROWING ON THE GROUND???? Eh....How about Master Chief grows a pair of perfect tits during the duration of the game, now THAT would be something.
This game is average at best. It looks like crap.
Mike-453 @ Sep 29th 2007 1:54PM
Average huh?
Still contains far more entertainment value than Bioshock or Gears of War, which it keeps being compared to for some strange reason.
Love the scarab battles, just a shame the Campaign is really halfassed due to the game being built around balanced multiplayer. Falling 2 kilometers to the ground but then dying in a jeep collision is just fucken lame, seriously. Really want a halo-realistic campaign, where I actually feel like one of the awesome Spartans we read about in the novels.
Multiplayer is hella fun, I canne understand all the hate, other than it simply being cool to hate something popular.
Diesk88 @ Sep 30th 2007 3:17PM
I have to be honest.
Just because it's Halo. Doesnt mean it's 'great' or immune from being 'badish'.
I dislike it. No, not because of hatred. But because, after playing number 1... & 2 prefusely on my original Xbox... no matter how slightly improved the graphics are... the gameplay and the whole idea of the game, has just become a little stale to me.
During Halo 1.. I was excited, because it was something new I havent experienced before. Number was exciting because well.. it was a sequel and I basically wanted more.
Number 3... well. I'm sorta Wanting the "number 1" experience at the moment. It just doesnt have the buzz it used to posess.
Ta ta.
