In continuation of the
Halo 3 Hayabusa
armor saga comes word of another ninja armor permutation that can be unlocked to show your uber l33t pwnage skills ... a ninja sword! According to various post on the Bungie.net forums and around the internet is word that an un-usable, decoration-only ninja sword attached to your Spartan's back is unlocked when the player achieves a 1000 Gamerscore in
Halo 3. And, as you can see in the picture above, the ninja sword goes perfectly with your
Hayabusa armor and looks quite badass. But is the Hayabusa sword incentive enough to make you want to go out of your way to earn a 1000 Gamerscore in
Halo 3? Answer: Yes, yes and yes.

no, no, and no.
mjfahmi @ Sep 30th 2007 12:31PM
im confuced , what should i do to get the sword , i should achieve a 1000 Gamerscore in Halo 3 , on which map , or just get a score in any map
nerrrrrrd @ Sep 30th 2007 12:33PM
mjfahmi, you have a lot to learn my son.
Zac LaCombe @ Sep 30th 2007 12:36PM
The answer is: Not really.
Why do I want some weird little sword I can't use on my back? It's a trivial item. What I want to unlock is a cutscene saying "See you in Master Chief's next adventure!"
(It could happen. Remember the marketing: "Believe.")
killploki @ Sep 30th 2007 12:36PM
when do we unlock the pirate looking suit?
mjfahmi @ Sep 30th 2007 12:38PM
ahh , 1000 gamer score in halo3 :) , i think im like 900 . so i just got to get more achievements :)
therpham @ Sep 30th 2007 12:48PM
The question is - can it be toggled? It might not look right all the time. Or is it part of the Hayabusa chestplate? That would make sense.
z3nbrain @ Sep 30th 2007 12:58PM
It's nearly impossible to get the 1000 gamerscore. Only because the FFA achievements are considerably harder to earn because there's only five people playing instead of 8. I got the triple kill achievement essentially by dumb luck.
ToRro2 @ Sep 30th 2007 12:58PM
I like to think any one with 1000 gamescore on any game is a nut case. Some of those achievements are crazy.
Xion @ Sep 30th 2007 1:02PM
instead of getting nothing for the full gamerscore, you get something? sounds good to me!
YoRone22 @ Sep 30th 2007 1:02PM
Toro2, have you played Madden 06 or Fight Night?
Tim @ Sep 30th 2007 1:34PM
Oblivions are super easy too. Just time consuming. Something you dont notice while you're enjoying such an epic game though.
Chris @ Sep 30th 2007 2:05PM
getting all the achievements on oblivion is easy too, just a little time consuming
Dragod @ Sep 30th 2007 2:32PM
Dang.. now I HAVE to finish Legendary...
Morgon @ Sep 30th 2007 3:32PM
I'm not sure 'impossible' is the word to describe Halo 3 Achievements..

There's about 75 on that list, which means there's almost certainly a greater number of people that have it.
SmokexCheck @ Sep 30th 2007 3:45PM
I have it. I didn't know about it until after I had unlocked it. It's a separate armor piece called "Katana Armor"
Here's a link to my profile with some pics

Josh @ Sep 30th 2007 5:53PM
Hey Smoke, did everyone in the lobby just agree to get the hard ones together, or did you get lucky enough to get an overkill and double laser against only 4 people?
SmokexCheck @ Sep 30th 2007 6:08PM
Josh: Most of those I was lucky enough to get legitimately. I just ignored the objective (KoTH, Oddball, etc), and went straight for lots of kills. Got overkill on oddball Epitaph with the rocket launcher and a BR.
2 of those I got help for. The Spartan laser, which is almost impossible, and the Mongoose Mowdown, which required obsessive luck. When you hit someone with a Mongoose, 90% of the time it deal NO damage. The other 10% it deals half a shield's worth of damage =\. Even if they stand still and you go full-on, it won't even break their shield. They have to get against a wall and be in low health (like by grenade) to even kill someone
Goodluck
drew @ Sep 30th 2007 6:08PM
I don't think you can join ranked free for all (lone wolves) with people in your party. Those achievements are for ranked free for all matches.
drew @ Sep 30th 2007 6:12PM
How did u "get help" with 2 of those?
Sam @ Sep 30th 2007 8:21PM
I imagine he just said "Hey guys, who wants to help me get my last achievement" a bunch of times at the start of his matches until he found some nice blokes to help him out.
BananaBoat @ Sep 30th 2007 7:41PM
Anyone that has this sword right now is either 1 of 2 things; 1. Fat guy in his basement with nothing else to do all day, or 2. a collection of multiple people playing on the same 360.
Some of the achievements are things that just would NOT have happened without help from people willing to (for instance) hop into a warthog and let you blow them up with equipment.
I've got the Hayabusa helmet, but the chances of me having enough free time to get all of the achievements in Halo 3 are slim to none. It's going to take some co-op to beat the game on legendary as it is, and setting that up between me and friends busy schedules is tough enough. Meh >
Jared @ Sep 30th 2007 8:17PM
So is the Hayabusa Armor and Sword just like a "Ninja Thing", or is it directly related to Ryu Hayabusa and Ninja Gaiden?
SmokexCheck @ Sep 30th 2007 9:26PM
Banana Boat: just because you have a 1:3 Win/Loss record and a 1:2 Kill/Death record doesn't mean people better than you are losers.
Every game's achievements are possible. Some just take more chest hair to get. When Ninja Gaiden 2 comes out, I look forward to hearing you cry about your 200 gamerpoints while those of us that are good nail the 1000/1000

Dammit x360f put some spoiler alerts or something before telling me everything!!!! Really
MongerKing @ Oct 1st 2007 2:01AM
Woo, I just need the Spartan Officer achievement and this sword is mine.
guidedbyvoip @ Oct 1st 2007 3:52AM
Pics like these make me long for the days of Zone of the Enders/Metal Skin Panic/Full Metal Panic...and ninjas. Lots of ninjas.
Anticrawl @ Oct 1st 2007 4:01AM
Is it just me or does none of the body armor look that good. They all have down points, like the EOD/Halo 1 chest plate looks cool from the front but gives your spartan a pair of double D's. They probably did all this on purpose to just prove they made the right choice with the VI suit. The security pads make me sad cause they look so out of place on your spartan, way to big.
BananaBoat @ Oct 1st 2007 5:18AM
SmokexCheck-
/insert rant about how you are a fat nerd/
/pre-empt your counter rant by calling you a loser with a horrible KD ratio and win/loss ratio/
/laughs himself all the way to his real life that involves friends and school/
I'm still waiting for my Kasumi and Ayane armor permutations. I'd much rather be a busty female ninja spartan than a dude desu. (This post needs more desu and cat meme)
BananaBoat @ Oct 1st 2007 5:28AM
Oh, and all of the skull locations are out now, with guides and videos on youtube showing you how to get them. I realize that some people might want to try getting them all without help, but most of us don't have the time to *Possible Spoiler* do every possible combination of jumping through holograms on the map "The Covenant" for example (7 rings, have to jump through 13 rings in order. You do the math of how many possible combinations that would be. It would take A LOOOOOOOOONG time without knowing the proper order)
Nick Spacek @ Oct 1st 2007 6:54AM
I kind of hoped that jumping through the rings in the right order played a Halo theme, or some related song, and therefore wouldn't be that hard to figure out on your own. Maybe I'm wrong...
DaiMac79 @ Oct 1st 2007 10:36AM
I'm just going after that 1000 so I can unlock the Security Armor, old school Marathon is the only to rock MP.
Shidarin @ Oct 1st 2007 10:51AM
Am I the only one who thinks the samurai armor looks kinda stupid? The real reward for 1000 gamerscore for me will be the Marathon helmet.
Maybe I'll throw the sword on too..

Stephen @ Oct 1st 2007 5:58PM
Anyone notice this guy...the guy with the armor in the picture has been playing since
****Sept. 21****?
Bungie employee, maybe?
BananaBoat @ Oct 2nd 2007 12:12AM
It would be HILARIOUS if it was some sort of Bungie employee only item, and people worked hard to get to 1000 gamerscore, only to find out that they don't get anything.
How lame is a sword for a gift at 1000 anyway? I know they don't have to give you jack shat, but wouldn't it be awesome if you got, for instance, an awesome video *Legendary Spoiler Spoiler Zomg spoiler spoiler* of the Chief landing on that planet, and Cortana waking him up? And maybe there could be evil aliens there are something lol. I wish the ending had been better....I really do.. =/
Quote the Raven @ Oct 3rd 2007 12:28PM
Stephen I had wondered the same thing, especially since the other person I know to have it http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Halo3/Default.aspx?player=PaCMaYNE
Also started campaign on 9/21/07. Interesting.
