Halo 3 hits No. 1 on Japanese sales charts

Okay, Blue Dragon we understood. Even Gears of War had the beautiful graphics and third person perspective going for it. But this, this was unexpected. Yes, the headline above is true. Halo 3 has landed on the number one spot in Japanese video game sales. Now, before we all go check ourselves into the loony bin, there are some clarifications in order. While Halo 3 did garner top honors, it did so with only 59,000 copies. In fact, there were two versions of the new Pókemon Mystery Dungeon 2 released that sold thousands more copies combined than Halo 3, though they are technically considered different games. Also, Blue Dragon, which landed in fourth place upon release last year, sold over 80,000 copies in its first week. So, while Halo 3 is doing well for a 360 title, it's not setting any records. Sill, positive 360 news out of Japan is rare, so cheers Microsoft, cheers.

Go Halo 3. It'll be interesting hearing little Japanese conversations in the lobby now.

On an unrelated note...
I'm looking to play some Halo 3 co-op tonight but I don't have many friends on my list. Anyone up for a game around 9ish EST? Username is my gamertag.

@#3 I'm game! I'm on the west coast but I'll join up with you after work. I'm in the same boat. None of my friends have or play the game so I'm on my own playing with strangers.
@#4 - He probably wrote 2 "o"'s in there because in Japanese the "o" is stretched out when you pronounce it - so it a more accurate description. Kinda like - do-omo. We have no equivalent in english.

What's wrong you dont trust the almighty VGCharts? Oh thats right if you are unable to spin the situation to an advantage, then its not worthy. Am I understanding this correctly?

To the writer of this article, I'm quite sure if Halo 3 was first on this list, you would have cited this site first....

@eclipse - Eclipse! You should get to the bottom of this. I will not be INSULTED any longer! We shall see who in fact has sold more software! I cant sleep until i know for sure that 'My Pokemans, let me show you them' and 'Final Fantasy', FOR SURE, have sold more copies than the IMPOSTER Halo3. Anyone have any TUMS. This SCANDAL is flaring up my ulcers!!!!!
