Todd McFarlane has been busy high atop McFarlane Towers (which is a bit more fancy than Fanboy Towers) trying to figure out new ways to capitalize on
Halo 3 fanboys' love of his ever increasing collection of
Halo 3 action figures. And his persistence paid off, because he came up with two new money making ideas ... the use of color and armor permutations.
Just
announced are five new Master Chief action figures (all viewable in the gallery below) that include Master Chief sporting Mark VI armor in red, blue and white, a
red blue C.Q.B. armored Spartan and a
blue red E.V.A. armored Spartan too. All five newly announced figures will be available March 2008 and some will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart or specialty stores nationwide. McFarlane, you little entrepreneur you.
[Thanks, TMD]

The blue one is the CQB, red is EVA.
Otherwise, these look pretty cool.

Sweet. especially the cortana.
"but can i buy them all for one price or do i have to work and pay for them individually?!?!"
...that was sarcasm for some of those whining about unlocking armor sets in Halo 3 multiplayer.
Bravo6 @ Oct 13th 2007 1:47PM
Would be cool if you could custom order them with armor and colors.

I saw these at GAME here in the UK, is there supposed to be a gap between the "release dates" of the UK and the US?
Darayz @ Oct 13th 2007 2:09PM
Gotta catch 'em all!!
Cheesegod @ Oct 13th 2007 2:17PM
No Security helmet, booooooooooo

I'm sure there'll be more. I'd love to see an ODST, but that probably wouldn't happen. Security Officer helmet would rule.

Wish we could make our own. Id get a pink one with Hayabusa Helm/Body w/sword and scout shoulders. All with my symbol and armor detail color of course. =P

Man these are still far off, but they're looking awesome.
Anticrawl @ Oct 13th 2007 5:38PM
One thing I've never gotten is why the Spartan models get skinnier with each sequal. I thought he was suppose to be some superhuman supersoldier guy. He looks like a pussy in multiplayer and in these action figures.
Anticrawl @ Oct 13th 2007 5:39PM
That C.Q.B. figure has small puny shoulders and whimpy girly arms.

@10.
Well their armor is frikkin' huge. If you have played campaing you probably have noticed that Master Chief is much bigger than normal humans. So there is a lot of room for muscles in that huge armor. :)

Bring back the regular poesable action figures. Maybe the 16 scale please!!!
Yuccadude @ Oct 14th 2007 1:27AM
Bungie exclusive recon armor!
No you can't have it ever!
Even if you whine for 10,000 years!
Seriously Bungie, if I didn't love Halo:CE so much, I would return my Halo 3 copy and just play Puzzle Quest, because I really want the recon shoulders and chest, not even the ninja helm, but you dashed my hopes and crushed my dreams against the cliffs of the Weekly What's Update.
psyborg @ Oct 14th 2007 1:31AM
the blue one actually looks kinda cool.

the designers have to allow for range of motion. the parts that move have to be smaller, so if the muscle areas were huge it would look completely disproportionate. the toy makers try to keep a nice balance between size and the allotment for range of motion.
DjDATZ @ Oct 15th 2007 8:31AM
Wow...if these weren't tiny (5 inches tall) they would be cool...but I'd rather get the 12 inch tall ones...
TORO @ Oct 15th 2007 10:43AM
'you little entrepreneur you' LOL
might as well take advantage, they know they're going to make tons of money with this.

I got one of the McFarlane covenant controllers. Except mine came with a black master chief, anyone have any information on the subject? I know that McFarlane like to put easter eggs in like this. I had two but sold one to a friend that was begging to have it. Any info is great. Also, I was smart and kept it sealed.
