We woke up this morning thinking of all the great deals the Sunday paper would bring. We already knew about a certain
Heroes HD DVD deal, but we were semi-optimistic about others. Anyway, speaking of
Heroes, that offer is 100% valid, starts today and will net you a free
Heroes: Season One HD DVD when you purchase the
Xbox 360 HD DVD player at Best Buy. Other Best Buy offers include a free comic book with the purchase of
Conan, a free wraslin' demo (which is available on the
XBLM too) when you pre-order
Smackdown vs. Raw 2008, and a free bonus disc loaded with gamer pictures, trailers and songs when you pre-order
Mass Effect. And if you're looking for other deals worth mentioning this week, then sorry, but there really isn't any. Circuit City, Target and everyone else were let downs. But cheer up, because a little birdy told us about next week's Circuit City retail ads and all we're saying is a free guitar stand with
Guitar Hero III purchase and a free Homer ball with
The Simpsons Game purchase. Shhh, you didn't hear that from us.

How about the free GH II bundle with the purchase of any 360 console at Futureshop in Canada.
I think this deal deserves a headline.

Oooh, that stand deal sounds excellent, but I wish I had heard it from my favorite fansite X3F instead of ... elsewhere?

I got the Mass Effect disk today. Haven't played it though. It has 2 themes also.

I Agree with #1. That is an awesome deal considering one week from today I will be shredding away at Evenflow and Scorpions

I bought the HDDVD drive and got the free Hereo's I didn't realize it came with KingKong and a remote... thats like 7 movies after the mail-in to get 5 a remote and a player for less then the price of a wii... I also hear you can hook the hd drive up to a pc to watch your movies on your media center or office pc.

I picked up the HD-DVD drive yesterday but Best Buy was out of the Heroes sets. I asked if they were sold out because of the promotion. One of the employees said they never actually had any Heroes HD-DVD sets (apparently they sold out a week or so ago and they hadn't seen them since). They gave me a raincheck for the set.
Is it possible to return the set for something else. I like Heroes and all but I don't see myself watching the set more than once. I was thinking about exchanging it for Planet Earth if I could. Thoughts?

WTF TROPHY BUCKS ONLY 29.99??!
OMG OMW 2 BB... BRB
xenocidic @ Oct 22nd 2007 9:57AM
@scaught as long as you leave it shrinkwrapped, you could return it (to walmart for example) and say you got it as a gift but already owned it, and that the person who gave it to you could not provide a receipt.
**note may be considered return fraud in some jurisdictions!**

I'm trying to get the HD-DVD drive with Heroes free on the Best Buy website, but not having any luck. By going to their weekly ad and finding the offer, then clicking it and choosing buy online, it only gives either the player by itself, or Heroes by itself, but no free bonus offer. Any help?
Scaught @ Oct 22nd 2007 1:08PM
@Smitty, the dude at Best Buy told me that this is an in store only deal. He checked on it because he wanted to see if I could just have the Heroes set mailed to my house (since the store was out of stock). He said it couldn't be done because the deal doesn't apply to the Internet store.
Justin @ Oct 22nd 2007 1:08PM
@ Smitty- Sometimes you have to put both items in your cart and once you checkout it will give you Heroes for free. I bought mine at a B&M store and the Heroes was scanned first then a game then the HD player, after the cashier hit total the Heroes price changed to $0.00. Hopefully this will happen the same online.

On Trophy Bucks can anyone tell me how many deathmatch kills you need to unlock the Hayabusa armor?
