We mentioned the new content a few days back and again last night, but we think it deserves another post today seeing that it just hit the Marketplace this morning (super justified). The newly
price reduced Forza Motorsport 2 Fontegi Track Pack featuring Japan's famous Twin Ring Motegi race track is available for download at a 400 Microsoft point price. The new track includes four separate racing routes (including three off road and one highway) and is available to all Xbox Live regions. If you have
Forza 2 and were contemplating purchasing the new track, then we think you should back Turn 10 and not feel guilty about shelling out 400 points. They are what we call "good peeps".

400 points for one track?
That seems... unjustifiable.
fatty chubs @ Oct 26th 2007 1:19PM
400 points is actually pretty reasonable, think of it as 4 tracks. Fans of online play for this game are going to be buying this up.

not as bad as 600, but it's still high, especially considering the meager amount of tracks that came with Forza2 as compared to similar games.
I think they will still have trouble moving the track for 400 msp as people can buy a bottom-tier arcade game instead for this price.

What games are you comparing this to, though? I mean, there's not really any more in DIRT or Sega Rally or any other major racer that I can think of on the 360. Like I said in another post, there's like 50 actual track variations in Forza. That's not that bad.
The only other thing I can think of is Gran Turismo, and even including variations 4 had 51 total. It's not a far cry away.
It's one "area" with four ribbons or tracks. To me at least that's not a bad deal, particularly given the months of work involved. Certainly much better than 600, which DID bug me.

Exactly. Lets break it down an compare to other games, ignoring different routes, as all games from GranTurismo to PGR has these. I'm talking different tracks. So,
FORZA 1
Alpine Ring
Blue Mountains Raceway
Fujimo Kaido
Maple Valley
LAguna Seca
New York
Rio De Janeiro
Nurburgring (Nordschlieffe)
Pacific Shipyards
Road America
Road Atlanta
Silverstone
Sunsent Peninsula
Tokyo
Tskuba
Test Track
TOTAL : 16
PGR 3
Four cities
Nurburgring Nordschlieffe
Nurburgring new
TOTAL : 6
But bear in mind this was a rushed launch title and the cities had a lot of variants each.
PGR4
Tokyo
New York
London
Vegas
Shanghai
St. Petersburg
Quebec
Macau
Michelin Test Track
TOTAL: 9
GT4 (PS2)
To many to list, but they're all here -
http://www.gtplanet.net/guides/index.php/Gran_Turismo_4_:_Track_List
TOTAL: 37
and now Forza 2
Mugello
Laguna Seca
Maple Valley
New York
Nurburgring Nordschlieffe
Road Atlanta
Sebring
Silverstone
Sunset Peninsula
Suzuka
Test Track
Tsukuba
Total : 12
Just the simple fact it has less than Forza 1 is a dissapointment.

I wish you guys would stop giving MGS credit for reducing the content price when it is quite clearly is a marketing trick.
"They listened to us, im buying it!"
No they didnt, they tricked you into buying it.
xenocidic @ Oct 26th 2007 1:56PM
@6 if only they could have applied some of that marketing genius and spin doctoring to Shadowrun.
c4v3man @ Oct 26th 2007 2:18PM
I think it's a reasonable price, and as soon as I get some extra points I'll get the track simply to support turn 10. Besides, this isn't a "map" or just some imaginary course, it an officially licensed track, that takes time to imitate and create in addition to the licensing fees.
iNNeR_KaoS @ Oct 27th 2007 4:23PM
Is anyone else paranoid about this? I remember a few days ago that people thought the track was going to be free, but 'confirmed' by an anonymous source that it was going to be 400 points. There was a slight outrage to the price. Then, it was offically confirmed to be 600 points, and there were a few swear words intermingled in forums and whatnot. Then, they 'receeded', and made it 400 points. Now, everyone is happy again.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to buy it, but I'm just wondering if it's going to be regular practice to say it's going to be an obscenely high price, and drop it, gaining credibility with the general population.
