Ugh, not Enter Sandman, it's the sell out song.
Zac LaCombe @ Oct 27th 2007 12:21PM
I like the track listing. It'll appeal to mostly everyone.
On another note, I tried the Guitar Hero 3 demo and was not impressed. Same hat, new feather.
Mathieu Bonin @ Oct 27th 2007 12:28PM
@1: Sellout track? Maybe, but it's also the most appropriate song to be enjoyed by every instrument. It's groovy, it's got great band moments (the opening build when the drum kicks in will be glorious).
Just for example, One is just too Guitar focused to really be fun for everyone. The end is just one several-minutes-long solo.
Leatherface @ Oct 27th 2007 12:58PM
What? The drums in One are pretty much the best in any Metallica song, in my opinion anyway.
Adam @ Oct 27th 2007 12:58PM
The list forgot Guns n' Roses -- Welcome to the Jungle for the 1980s
Joe @ Oct 27th 2007 1:13PM
Brainpower by Freezepop was also confirmed on the band's Myspace.
Go Freezepop!
Mathieu Bonin @ Oct 27th 2007 1:14PM
@5 "Welcome to the Jungle" is NOT in the game, the video everyone saw was target footage used by Harmonix internally to show each other what the game was supposed to be like.
It was proven over and over than the song is NOT in the game.
@4 No argument there. It just sucks for the singer and the bassist... and no double pedal? ouch.
Rob Cannon @ Oct 27th 2007 2:02PM
I bet one of the unrevealed tracks is by Joe Walsh. I heard mention on the Marjor Nelson podcast of someone playing Joe Walsh on Rock Band. I hope it's "Life's Been Good". Best guitar rifts ever!
Brian @ Oct 27th 2007 2:11PM
lol @ #4, yeah I forgot Rock Band has a double kick pedal.
kriegs @ Oct 27th 2007 3:52PM
I'd KILL to have Hot for Teacher by Van Halen. Serious that songs BEGGING to be put into Rock Band.
Steve Gano @ Oct 27th 2007 4:04PM
Strange, have some of the same tracks as GHIII, Reptilia, When You Were Young, Paranoia, and Cherub Rock. You'd think they wouldn't let that happen
Leatherface @ Oct 27th 2007 4:19PM
"@4 No argument there. It just sucks for the singer and the bassist... and no double pedal? ouch."
Heh, fair enough.
Ed @ Oct 27th 2007 4:58PM
That's weird, I thought When You Were Young was just on GH3. Oh well, now I have no reason to buy it. :)
Dr Rosenrosen @ Oct 27th 2007 7:15PM
Coheed! That's rockin'! I'm air guitaring as we speak mofos!
Andykapped @ Oct 27th 2007 11:45PM
blackened from metallica would be nice or master of puppets
ccc @ Oct 28th 2007 1:00AM
I want the entire And Justice for all album on Rock Band. It would be the last music game I would ever need.
TheGorgonsGaze @ Oct 29th 2007 1:21AM
There are some great bands listed, but horrible song selections. GH3's track list sucks, and this isn't looking that much better.
GH was way better when they sticked with a hardcore heavy metal vision and didn't try to toss in songs that people who have sucky taste in music will recognize.
Death to false metal!
mmmmok @ Oct 29th 2007 6:26AM
I really like the song selection...
A lot less "metal" than GH2. I enjoyed GH2 as a game, but I only liked a couple of the songs which really limited how much enjoyment I got out of it.
Garbage, R.E.M., Pixies among many others - I know almost ALL of these songs and I *LIKE* them too.
Kizzle @ Oct 29th 2007 10:28AM
"The drums in One are pretty much the best in any Metallica song, in my opinion anyway."
While I agree they sound "cooler," I think for the purpose of playing a song, Enter Sandman is better suited to this kind of game - not just for drums, but for everything.
One is definitely a better song, but I understand why they went with Enter Sandman here.
ccc @ Oct 29th 2007 8:11PM
I don't know what you guys know about music, but I'll tell you this. Highway star will be sweet.
marked1234 @ Nov 7th 2007 4:39PM
I really like the tracklist for RockBand and I agree that the vocals will be the worst part. I am pumped to play some Soundgarden though can't wait. I also found this whole playlist streaming online check it....
