GHIII Code website now open for business

Initially, the special Guitar Hero Code website was schedule to go live on October 28th, but that date came and went with nothing. A new date was posted stating that soundtrack purchasers could get their Xbox Live code and songs on October 30th ... but again, nothing. Then another message popped up on the website stating that "sometime this week" you'd be able to get access to the Xbox Live codes and we're happy to say that "sometime" has come. The Guitar Hero Code website is now live and anyone who purchased the soundtrack can get their in-game GHIII content by registering on the site and entering their CD key code. You've experienced lots of waiting, lots of hoop jumping and lots an annoyance, but it has to be worth the AFI, Flyleaf and Manson.

I know this is a little off the topic, but is anyone else a little disappointed at the overall game? I looked at the line-up and was pumped for a re-worked Sex Pistols song and a couple of others, but upon finally getting a chance to play it, it was awful.. Plus not to mention the GOD awful look of the main singer, plus the horrible lip synching.. For the amount of money we pay as consumers for games, when they have advertisements inside a game, we should be seeing the discounts (especially, when all it is, really, is a re-hash of LAST years game)..
I dunno, no one's gonna read this anyways, i'll get off my soapbox ;)

whoop-dee-f**king-doo. Now how about someone fixes the rest of the website? It's been 4 days and I still can't register on GuitarHero.com to track my stats.
Agora Games (GH.com webdevs) = FAIL!

I feel like the ad money went to keep the cost down on the guitar–it feels a lot nicer and is wireless, but cost the same as the shitty GHII guitar. However, I would agree–something just feels off about the game. It's a lot of little things, like the fact that you can't play "Devil Went Down to Georgia" in Free Play, or that the "hard" songs aren't fun to play in any respect–fuck Dragonforce, gimme Stairway!

I don't regret buying the game, as I love this series. Yet it does feel kinda blah. The Bonus songs for the most part suck. Its not a very diversified selection of songs to begin with and nothing really made me feel like I truly was a rock god. The Battle mode is fairly ho hum button mashing and for the love of God do they really think Brett Michaels is that big of a Draw for this game. They can get that tool to get all cgi'ed up for the game but all we get is a half way sexy cartoon chick dancing for one of the best songs in the game, Sabotage. Come on. Listen to his Bret Michaels band bonus song. I swear I had a little puke up in my throat. I love the series but this one was kind of a let down. I welcome Rock Band to raise the stakes and add a little competition.

Am I wrong or does Rock Band have mostly the same songs as GHIII so everybody is waiting for it to be some greatly better game when it is just different more insturments I agree with the bonus songs sucking but come on you got slipnot, in flames, slayer, ghiii is really fun to play and thats really all the matters dont like battle mode dont play it they still have all the other ones...

If you didn't like GHIII then you most likely won't like rock band. I just played the demo at best buy and it plays like sh!t. The fender feels like a cheap piece of crappy plastic and playing the drums is kinda retarded.

I'd rather have a website that worked than the ability to buy a CD for more content on a game that I'm still working through.

@ 6. I TOTALLY disagree. I got the opportunity to play rock band in london on a 50" screen with 3 otehr guys, i was playing bass with the fender and the controller is so amazing, 10000000000 times better than the gh3 controller. VERY authentic, and the game was an absolute blast to play. drums were awesome! i am importing it from USA to play!!!!

VERY DISSAPPOINTED. The green button was not working on my guitar so I returned it to get my money back. I'll now just wait for Rock Band to come out. Hopefully they won't ship a bunch of faulty instruments.

I sold mine back to gamestop for 30 bucks along with Gh2 and the guitar. I want nothing to do with this series anymore.

Ran @ Nov 2nd 2007 9:21AM
Yeah the lead singer is ugly as sin. Casey Lynch is slammin though. All in all I agree - just not feeling GH3. Prolly jam the lameness couple more times then back to halo and skate. Wait I smell COD4!!!
ccc @ Nov 3rd 2007 9:14AM
Yeah thats gamestops nature to rip you off.
They need to pass a law that buisnesses buying back games must give the seller 75 to 80 percent of what the buyer is intending on selling the game for.
