The first (some may say
second) downloadable content for
Guitar Hero III has been discovered and Foo Fighter and Velvet Revolver fans should get excited.
The yet to be officially announced
GHIII DLC was discovered by
BatDan hiddenzombie013 (excuse us) over at the
ScoreHero forums when he was looking through the leaderboards for high scores on the CD exclusive tracks. To his surprise, he came across leaderboard postings for six new songs from the Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver and also postings for the
GHIII boss battles (yup, the Tom, Slash and Devil tracks that are already on the disc). This puts the confirmation level of the DLC at around the 99.8% level, but as with any leaked information we're left with more questions. Questions like, when will the new tracks release? How much will the new tracks cost? And why do we feel handicapped when playing any song on expert? All these questions will not be answered until Activision comes clean and makes the DLC announcement or until we as a community get better at planting spies at developer HQ. The new tracks are posted after the break, so commence drooling ... now.

I still want the tracks from the PS2 release Rockin the 80's, or whatever it was called. Give me my 80's rock tunes on my 360 NOW!

I have the feeling that these will be 108k downloads in true Activision fashion. They can SuCk Meh BaLLz because I am saving all my money for Rock Band DLC.

Why do we feel handicapped when playing any song on expert?... because the game is way harder than GH and GH2, thats why.
Al @ Nov 1st 2007 3:42PM
Does anybody know if these are master tracks?
dunnypop @ Nov 1st 2007 3:48PM
I thought the Velvet Revolver song was going to be included.
The GH3 new controller is amazing. the graphics are a vast improvement.
the song list is amazing.
but I still feel that this is just Guitar Hero 2 - with an enhancement.

GH3 is way easier than GH2 and about the same as GH1. The HO/PO's are much easier and the room for error when hitting notes is like 2-3 times bigger than GH2. I constantly find myself hitting combo's and solo's in GH3 with 100% and going "Wow...i didn't deserve to do that well"
"Precision Mode" in GH3 is about as hard as GH2.
Oh and paying for boss battles which are allready 100% in the game? Fuck that. I draw the line there. I'll download the PC version when it comes out thank you very much. At least i wont be charged for songs that are allready on the disc that way.

You have misquoted. It was not BatDan (he doesn't even have a post on the first page). It was hiddenzombie013, and he's pissed at you man!

Major made a post about this Sunday but it was pulled within minutes maybe seconds. It was in my RSS feed but was not on his page. It was posted as free so lets see if it was pulled so they could charge ppl for it.

@dunnypop
Of course it's GH2 with enhancements. What else did you expect. They can't go around changing core elements because then it wouldn't be GH.
