Assassin's Creed music up for download

If you pay attention to video game music at all, there is one name you've likely heard before: Jesper Kyd. One of the industry's most prolific composers, Kyd has been around since the Sega Genesis (ah, The Adventures of Batman & Robin: mediocre game, great soundtrack). Most recently, Kyd has been behind the soundtracks for Kane & Lynch and Assassin's Creed, both of which are available this week. In celebration of the release of Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft has released two of Kyd's tracks from the game, hosted by Gamertag Radio. The two tracks -- "City of Jerusalem" and "Flight Through Jerusalem" -- aptly exemplify the Middle Eastern setting and could easily be heard in a feature film (perhaps an Assassin's Creed film). This is great in all, but everywhere around me, the game is DELAYED! I live in pittsburgh pa. Anyone else having this problem?
Yuccadude @ Nov 13th 2007 4:00PM
Anthony, it's not delayed, it just shipped today, it'll be in stores tomorrow or Thursday, depending on the store.
I really like the UNKLE song that they had on one of the badass walking movies, so I'll probably have that playing while I walk around all badass-like.

Game is getting some lukewarm reviews
mark @ Nov 13th 2007 4:19PM
most reviews are ok but 1up and IGN gave it 7s which isn't good but since guitar hero 3 and half life are gifts around December I'm buying it regardless of the "repetitive" missions

Jesper Kyd is a fucking music god. He did the Freedom Fighters soundtrack, and all the soundtracks for the Hitman series. ALL of which are better than 99% of other games' music.

It's amazing how the reviews are split right down the middle:
IGN: "..one of the top 5 most disappointing games ever..."
Gamespot: "...a beautiful experience you'll remember for years to come"
Some are praising the innovation, others detracting for the repetitive gameplay, lack of polish.
Reminds me of the response to Dead Rising, which I loved at first, but haven't played since.

The best critic is yourself, rent it if you're unsure I say ;)
I only buy games where longevity is it's high-point
nerrrrrrd @ Nov 13th 2007 7:27PM
This is a must rent. The first 3 hours are amazing and you'd definately think this is a 9 or 10 rated game... then actually go through and complete the game and you'll be so tired of doing the same crap over and over and over again that you'll feel it's more of a 7.
and it's not that I got tired of killing people, oh no, that was the best part. but there's a lot of tedious stuff to it that really grinds you down.
also the biggest blue ball ending since halo 2.
you've been warned!
