Halo 3 Easter egg: This ... is ... Sparta!

It's been far too long since we've posted a video from Halo 3, hasn't it?. We'd better put one up now before we start to spoil our good name. And since we're all about hitting phenomena at the height of their popularity, why not make it a video about a 300 Easter Egg? Yes, we're all familiar with the ever popular "This is madness!!!" meme by now, but we're still tickled to see it in Halo 3. Even better (and appropriately enough), the Easter Egg seems to be triggered by the Spartan Laser. But enough talk. Check out the video above and enjoy.

Thats badass. Unfortunately, I've never experienced this little egg. Normally, My marines are dead as shit by that time.

It's not really an easter egg, more an effect of the IWHBYD skull being activated. Although saying that, even with it off, the marine's continue to provide new lines.

Theres another good one if you are a fan of the movie Serenity. One of the Baldwin brothers who was in Serenity also voiced a Marine in Halo3, shouts "Sure would be nice if we had some grenades". That line was from Serenity. Kinda cool if youve seen the movie.

@6: Sometimes you hear one of the marines say "Shiny!"

Plus, sometimes Arby will say "Welcome to the social." when you board a vehicle that he's already on, which is a Zune reference.

It's not an easter egg. It's an IWHBYD effect. And it's not triggered by the Splaser, it's triggered by killing a covie. Also, where were you guys when this was found A MONTH AND A HALF ago?

Adam Baldwin (the man they call Jayne) is not a Baldwin brother.

But theres a few Serenity/Firefly quotes in the game thanks to Alan Tudyk (Wash) and Nathan Fillion (Malcolm Reynolds) doing voices. In the very first mission the first transmissions between Johnson and the other Col. are with a guy Fillion voiced.

When I was playing on the first level not too long ago with the IWHBYD skull on I heard a marine say "AW, come on I almost got an achevement" or something close to that. lol It made me laugh.

Easter eggs are great but they drive you crazy if no one else finds them. During the original Halo I misheard the grunt in The Maw level. For years I thought it was talking about Starsky and Hutch. Could never find the grunt again to show anyone else. Didn't help that I only found him by accidently driving the wrong way.
