1UP previews Ninja Gaiden II, tons of video

The unruly bunch at 1UP managed to get their hands on Ninja Gaiden II and posted a nice preview feature on GameVideos. In short, the game looks very nice. Judging from some of the comments from the 1UP crew, the game looks to satisfy the wildest dreams of the hordes of wannabe super ninjas out there. Our favorite bit of info in the preview: enemies that have lost limbs don't quit. In other words, don't assume that an enemy is now harmless just because you've lopped off both of his legs. That enemy can and will continue in his attempts to kill you. He might, for instance, prime a grenade and try to take you out with him. Awesome. Along with the video preview (embedded above) are three new gameplay videos for you to enjoy after the break. So enjoy them, or pay the price.

I wonder if the Jaquio will be back. Hey does anyone know who that creature was in the first game when Ryu put the jewel on the tip of his sword then all of a sudden some mysterious creature appeared holding in his possesion the dark sword? Anyone know who the heck that was?

Game videos.com sucks. I have fi-os and I swear I could download a whole television show (if i did that kind of thing;) in the time it takes those videos to buffer.

haha, the camera didn't suck dude. if you couldn't manipulate the camera in a fight while maintaining a defensive stance and view of the fight, then it is you who sucks my friend.

i put in so many hours on NG and NG Black (Sigma doesn't count, PS3 controller sucks for twitch action games like NG haha!)

can't wait for this one! Heavenly God of What? lol

Is a black winter hat the uniform at 1up.com? Anyone think it's odd when you have two people sitting in an office and wearing a black winter hat? I gues I'm not hip.

BTW, I guess I suck but I thought the first NG was nothing but button mashing. Maybe there's a system to it but I failed to see the beauty and complexity in the game. It was basically a modern day Double Dragon.

i think a modern day Double Dragon would be more something like God Hand for the PS2.

this game is more than a button masher. it requires quick thinking and reflexes and really rewards you for learning the combos. if you
beat Ninja Gaiden for Xbox with just random x and Y buttons, i'd like some video footage please. :)

oh, and btw i love that new "head popping" animation that follows the Izuna Drop! i really hope they add some dynamics to those chopped body parts tho. looks kinda stiff right now.

To Freeze - the figure you see when Hayabusa places the Eye of the Dragon on Ryuken is the first form of the Emperor that you fight in one of the last boss fights. Didnt you finish NG Black??!! If so - shame on you! Go play it now! And second if Jaquio appers boy will I be a happy girl.

For the videos I've seen so far- HOLY NINJA GOD!! I'm drooling and squeeling like the Ninja Gaiden fangirl that I am! I simply can't wait for this game and I'm amazed by all the fighting details. The bosses are intimidating, the weapons are simply amazing, the AI on each enemy is outstanding! I'm drooling, I think I have to change my undies and this game WILL BE in my Ninja Gaiden collection (like NGDS). After all, this gamer chick here has been playin Ninja Ryukenden since 1988. :D
