Ghostbusters website and footage materialize

Oh, what did we ever do to deserve this? Barely a day after the existence of the Ghostbusters game is confirmed, we have an official website and the first trailer for the game. The website comes complete with screenshots and some info about the game, including the official press release from Sierra. The game is being created for 360, PS3, and PC by Terminal Reality (AEon Flux, BloodRayne 1 & 2). Red Fly Studio is handling the Wii, PS2, and DS iterations. Players will take on the role of a new recruit in the Ghostbusters team, helping them stop a new outbreak of ghoulish activity in New York City. But enough talk! Check out the video by hitting the "read" link to see the game in action (unfortunately, G4's embeddable player isn't quite up to snuff). Seeing how far along development has already come, we're starting to get a pretty clear picture of why Zootfly's prototype was shot down so quickly earlier this year.

Sirk @ Nov 16th 2007 7:25PM
Try versions on the Commodore 64 and Apple IIE way back in 1984 Magic Whiskey over 20 years ago.

Well, it's from the developers of AEon Flux and BloodRayne 1 & 2. What could POSSIBLY go wrong...
colin @ Nov 19th 2007 12:38AM
i think it is pretty cool that hollywood and the game industry alike have realized that the kids that were into ghostbusters, x-men, and ninja turtles (though they need some help) are now gainfully employed and ready to re-live their childhoods. MOOAAARRRR plz!

First game was on the Sega Master System?? Puh-LEEZE.
In 1984, the year the movie came out, the Commodore 64 saw "Ghostbusters". It was designed by David Crane, the guy who did Pitfall and A Boy and His Blob, and it's one of the most major influences on my own game design career.
Go grab an emulator and play it. It's GREAT!
