Bungie teases about Halo 3 news coming Monday

Concluding the update, Luke mentions that since Turkey Day is next week there will be no podcast or Weekly Update posted. But, as a replacement for no updates, he hints at goodness that'll be announced early next week saying that "on Monday (November 19) folks are definitely going to want to check back in here at Bungie.net and keep faces pressed to their monitors like children breathing on school bus windows in November, because there will be news. Oh yes, there will be news."
So, what could the exciting news be? We're thinking that since the Weekly Update focused on the upcoming Halo 3 map DLC it'll either be the announcement of the official map names, screenshots from them or just general details for when the new content will hit the Marketplace. We'll keep our faces pressed up against our monitors come Monday, we just don't want to be let down. You hear that Bungie ... don't let us down.

He was also taking about if you are at level 45 you will receive something special. I wonder what that is. Recon anyone?

On bungie.net's homepage, where they highlight the weekly update in the Top Stories, they say it is "The penultimate in Downloadable Content teases". Penultimate means "second to last". So apparently, this is the second to last time they will tease us with info before releasing the DLC. Could Monday be the final tease?

They won't reward a specific subset of their player-base. They don't work that way. Giving specific leveled players a unique gift would only alienate the other, lower level players. Bungie's smarter than that. If they give away anything, it'll be player-base wide I imagine.

im not buying the new maps if they dont add them to matchmaking. Sorry but I dont want them to turn into new maps that will be just like the forge mode, never used because no1 can find my custom games. If they decided to add them to matchmaking (and create a big team battle ranked witht hem) or make a server browser so people can actually find my custom games/forge games then I will gladly buy them.

i'm not playing halo 3 until they fix the bugs like the melle bug new maps or not i wont be playing it unless its a custom with some friends and where just messing around

And yeah, an announcement about an announcement. Bungie loves to do this stupid shit. They should stop doing stuff like this because they always end up disappointing because of the massive expectations.
It'll be interesting to see if they do hype like this with new games too. I wonder if they'll take a lot of heat if they can't meet expectations or their next game isn't very good.

It would be nice if they added new maps, but also new armor with more colors to choose from, and more options. I wouldnt mind having my character in black armor like the zombies/juggernauts. Even a really dark purple, or dark green. The colors are limited i think. Also an option to change the color of our face mask would be nice!

But GOD I hope it's something about that level 45 thing, cause I'm at 43, or something to do with DLC!

Idiots. He was simply mentioning that the upcoming changes to the playlists have him excited to "continue [his] desperate quest for Level 45."
TJ Scoot (his gamertag) hasn't hit lvl 45 yet, and the nature of the upcoming changes to the ranked hoppers have him thinking he can finally achieve that goal.

does anyone else hate the term "turkey day" everytime i hear it i wanna punch people in the face because you take away from what respect i had for the holiday, which is based on a crime. And to this i think it will be a thanxgiving day hoppper, maybe pilgrims and indians? turkeys and hunter/farmer/pilgrim?

My sources within Bungie and Microsoft confirm the news is that a movie will be in production by the middle of next year. The project will be a joint venture between Universal, Paramount/DreamWorks, eventually leading to the greatest HD DVD exclusive to date.
Ha, I kid I kid.

Thanksgiving is commercialized, but so what, who likes the none commercialized holidays, when is the last time you went out and did something fun on Flag Day?
