Yesterday, as part of Ubisoft's end of the quarter fiscal talk with their investors, they revealed that the 360 exclusive
Splinter Cell Conviction is taking longer than expected to develop and
has been delayed. Originally,
Conviction was planned for release sometime between January and March 2008, but Ubisoft made it clear that the game wouldn't release in that time frame and is now targeted for sometime on or after April 2008. And we know, being the kind heart you are, that your instant reaction to the
Conviction delay is to worry about Ubisoft's financials. But don't, because Ubisoft already planned for the delay and their earnings outlook is in check.

meh... that's ok. I never finished the last one. I have WAY too many games that I haven't played or need to finish.

GOOD!
I love to hear that a game gets delayed! (seriously)
It gives developers time to polish their game.
Unfortunately, there will always be people who whine about delays, and if the game is on time, then they complain that the game isn't polished enough and seems rushed...

i know that Editorial doesn't have control of ad content and placement on Weblog Inc. blogs, but it's pretty ridiculous that a "The future is Blu-Ray" ad is plastered all over an Xbox 360-only blog. it totally undermines the focus and image of the blog. :(
the ad is directly below the splinter cell post on the main index.
and for the record, this saddens me. i was really looking forward to SC:Conviction.

That's alright...take your time Ubi...we have plenty of games to last us through the 1st quarter of 08'.

@2 lol, i was just about to come in here and comment about the same thing.
but the truth is , Microsoft really isn't 'fully behind' HD-DVD anyways, they stated that if Blu-ray started winning the battle , they would release an Blu-ray peripheral...

Interesting. Yesterday they announce the PS3-exclusive, Haze, would be delayed. Now this. Not sure what the problem is with Haze, but I wonder if the delay with SC: Conviction has anything to do with the rash of problems and overall criticisms of the Assassin's Creed release. Their boards are full of technical issues, and more than a few complaints about the repetitive nature of the gameplay, the inclusion of the "informer flag missions" (if you have played AC, you know what I am talking about, and it is a pointless mission type), and overly-complex control scheme. I definitely have to agree on the latter issue - "blending" while trying to control the camera will cause cramps in places I did not know you could get a cramp!

If you guys have Firefox get the adblock and noscript add-ons. I don't see any of the ads y'all are complaining about! :)

meh...ConViction is pretty much the same as Assassin's Creed. Unless there's something really different about this game, it's more of the same and more than likely a no purchase. sorry dude but I don't want to go into another game knowing full well how eFFing repetitive and retarded certain aspects can be.
Good that they delayed it, more power to the people who will make it better, maybe not Jade though, but her game does feel so good

whatev, do it well. i know this game will shit on assassin's creed. if you're looking to get into splinter cell on the 360, definitely get double agent, its an awesome single player game with a lot of depth and storyline, along with alternate endings. the multiplayer is really what makes the game last though, with a spies vs mercenaries mode that rocks.
