Sweet. If they make the new plasmids free then that will put them heads up above most of the other developers out there.
Bryan T @ Dec 1st 2007 2:28PM
I read somewhere a while back that there would be new achievements. Would that be what comes with this new DLC?
Grant @ Dec 1st 2007 2:30PM
and i was just about to replay this to get the last few achievements.
guess i'll hold off.
I have to say that new free content would make a great game even better.
mattclarkie @ Dec 2nd 2007 1:11PM
I just bought it a week ago, haven't got round to playing it what with Assassins Creed. This will be great as I get to experience the extras first time through.
jose_edwaldo @ Dec 1st 2007 2:33PM
I read on Kotaku that the new DLC adds a harder difficulty as well, that disables the vita-chambers.......
killploki @ Dec 1st 2007 2:50PM
did anyone else notice there is a new achievement available? there is now 51 instead of 50 and the new one is 100 points but is listed as a secret bringing the games total to 1100 gamerpoints.
maybe a new difficulty would make sense then....
MDJ2010 @ Dec 1st 2007 2:51PM
Yeah there is a new 100pt achievement which is 'Beat the game on Hard without using a vita-chamber and without harvesting a little sister. So the option has been added to turn of the vita-chambers in conjunction with this new achievement.
dramamoose @ Dec 2nd 2007 2:11AM
Sounds like I'll be filling up my hard drive with Bioshock saves. Additional question: why would they have another achievement for not harvesting any little sisters?
Bill @ Dec 1st 2007 3:12PM
It would be nice if they added southpaw controls. Then I could actually play the game.
AnOffday @ Dec 1st 2007 4:10PM
Not to be rude, but why can't you just adjust?
I don't understand why people complain about other games not having a halo control scheme. That makes no sense. The controller layout is normal to everyone else.
Bill @ Dec 1st 2007 4:39PM
Its not "the halo control scheme", its the 007 control scheme from the N64.
Its retardly easy to implement, so I choose not to spend $60 on a game if the developers don't want me to enjoy the experience. And trust me, games aren't fun at all if you are walking into walls for a significant portion.
michael @ Dec 2nd 2007 12:33AM
I'm with Bill, the only way that I can enjoy this game is either with a modded controller or a patch that allows for southpaw controls. I'm really hoping for a patch.
John @ Dec 2nd 2007 4:53AM
Eh? You guys are crazy. I'm left handed and had no problems playing the game. Switching the controls would seem weird. I'm not sure why you deem the game unplayable - I have never had any problem adjusting to "right handed" controls schemes.
Grant @ Dec 2nd 2007 1:29PM
while i don't agree with you guys, and i can adapt to almost any controller set-up, just take a few plays to pick up, but i do agree that controller mapping or different preset layouts really should be easy to include and implement on most games.
the only problems i could forsee with contoller mapping would be people wanting to assign analog button press actions to a digital button, but that could be remedied by having multiple presets.
Chuckles @ Dec 1st 2007 4:12PM
This is so great of news. Now I will have the motivation to put down COD4 and beat the game again.
Big Zimm @ Dec 1st 2007 4:56PM
This should be just the motivation I need to play through the game one more time!
Sunny @ Dec 1st 2007 5:29PM
This should get me to actually go back and finish the game at least a first time through. :) Right after this game came out I got into the CoD4 beta and Bioshock was nothing more than a distant memory. I think my last save was right after you encounter your first Houdini Splicer...
THA1icarus @ Dec 1st 2007 6:23PM
Well I'm a bit further in the game but I will agree with the rest you are saying.
brodsky2809 @ Dec 1st 2007 6:28PM
wow, you barely even played the game. there's a lot more to go from there.
Corleone @ Dec 1st 2007 7:50PM
Bioshock Rules!!
krellish @ Dec 1st 2007 8:03PM
funny.. I just came upstairs from playing my copy of Bioshock that i bought from Amazon during that $50 deal with the darkness last week. Good looks, 360fb..
Teabag @ Dec 2nd 2007 5:20AM
I don't suppose they will add an extension of the story? More gameplay? Kevin was pretty against it...so...i guess not.
Oh well, new plasmids should be good.
xenocidic @ Dec 2nd 2007 9:31PM
By Kevin, I assume you mean Ken [Levine]?
And yea, I doubt there will be any more storyline, unfortunately.
Teabag @ Dec 3rd 2007 2:44AM
^Yea, Kevin Levine. I left the last name as i wasn't sure of the spelling :p
Steven @ Dec 3rd 2007 2:50AM
New Plasmids 'ey...My mind is racing with the different possibilities. To the Guy who said he hasn't got around to playing this game, make time. It's that good.
Hinten @ Dec 3rd 2007 5:34PM
Does 'Harvesting Little Sisters' also include 'Saving Little Sisters'. Do they mean you can't touch them at all or saving them is okay?
Timerider @ Dec 3rd 2007 6:16PM
Sweet!!! Can't wait!
Bioshock is my most completed game, i have 49 of 50 achievements. I couldn't get Avid Inventor :P.
