Whilst preparing to write this very post, we realized that last week had no What Are You Playing at all. Yes, we forgot about it entirely. We realize that many of you out there must have been shocked, perhaps even hurt. For that, we apologize. Please forgive us for our egregious error and help us atone for our mistake. There, with that out of the way, it's time for us to ask: what will you be playing this weekend?

Just rented ME. Hoping to enjoy it while the ice storm blows across Oklahoma this weekend. It's going to be a great weekend for gaming.

Mass Effect, unless Jade Empire calls too heavily, and I may switch to that, but I need to try and get jiggy with Liara, w00t!!
Oh, and maybe Project Gotham 3 (hey, I'm a 360 nube, and at 20 bucks it's better than 60 for PG 4! :P)

I heard ME can be beaten in less than 40 hours as well...some people complete it in 20-25 hours...

"can be beaten" sure. You can just focus on the main storyline and complete that part. But if you factor in the side-quests that most people would do, then you're looking at well over 40 hours of game in there. Oblivion is the same way. Some might focus on the main quest and "beat" it quickly, but most people are going to take a lot longer.

Are you sure you're not thinking of a different game Mark? My first pass through Mass Effect I went out of my way to avoid the main storyline/work every side quest i could/explore every planet... and when all was said and done that game clocked in around 35 hours.... I imagine main storyline only couldn't possibly take more than 15-20hrs to complete max.

Lately, I've been going back and forth between Mass Effect and Rock Band. One friend comes over every once in a while to "rock out" and work on the band world tour. I'm sure this weekend will be no different.

Hopefully, I will be finally finishing off Overlord. I may also break open NFS:MW, better late than never. I really need to get into Mass Effect & Assassins Creed still. Plus, Timshift is gathering dust as well!

I'll probably finish up AC this weekend. I have Kane & Lynch and The Simpsons game collecting dust. I need to either play them or get them back to Gamefly.
I'm sure I'll be hitting up some Rock Band, AC, TF2, and Guitar Hero 3.
I actually wasted a couple of hours the other night coming up with a bio for my profile on XBL. I've been checking out my FoF lists and see that very few have done that yet.

I'm definitely playing ME, still working on all the Acheevers in Orange Box, Just got COD 4 and Just Cause (Dont laugh) on a nice CC-Meijer price match/Deal (Meijer - BOGO 39.99 game - Meijer matched CC's 39.99 COD4 special, I took Just Cause for the freebers)...
My bro is coming over with Ass's Creed, and I'm getting my copies of bioshock and Darkness back after not having em for months... Still havent beaten any of em... Need to get DLC for bioshock...

I can beat me in under 10 hours, but the problem is, if you want the cheevos you gotta beat it 5 times and you have to do everything which takes around 25 hrs each go.

I must be really slow. I am on 17 hours and haven't even been to Noveria yet! I finished all citadel side quests before moving on. I am going to kill Benezia tonight hopefully!!

Glad to see so many people playing Mass Effect :-)
I'll be playing a lot of that myself, maybe finishing up my first play through... and hopefully some custom Halo 3 matches playing jailbreak CTF on Cell Block 71...

You forgot last weeks "What are you playing" post because you were too busy playing Mass Effect!
This weekend I'll probably be playing ME again, which I've already played through twice, now working on that Insane achievement. I hate it and I love it that they decided that Hardcore and Insanity have to be unlocked. It kinda makes you really delve into the game. Unfortunately there's no achievements for getting every single side mission... bleh, all that work for nothing!

yesterday i downloaded the new content for Bioshock so i'm going to go through it on hard mode with no vitachambers and i need to find all the tonics and the tape recordings. that should finish off the last of my achievements for the game. plus i've been wanting to play it again anyway. i'm still deciding whether it or ME is my favorite game this year.
and of course some COD4 and thought about renting K and L just to see what all the fuss was about. i loved Freedom Fighters (xbox originals anyone??) and hoping it might feel (control wise) a little similar to that.

I have to finish Bioshock. I have been putting it off for too long and with new plasmids and a fixed widescreen I need to play it. Of course I will probably spend the whole weekend playing the usual CoD4 and Carcassone.

Convincing the SO might not be so hard. My wife and my sister-in-law like the game a lot. My sister-in-law gave my brother-in-law the go ahead to buy it after playing my copy for a few hours.

Gonna do some serious Mass Effect sessions. Maybe move along in Half Life 2 and a few Portal advanced levels. Dig in to NBA 2K8 a bit. Try again to wrap my head around Virtua Fighter 5.

Heh, I'm going to be "playing" with the Fall Update -- I've gone from having ~10% of my copious media collection work on my 360 to having ~95% in the space of a single day. It's a bit overwhelming ;-)
Otherwise, I've got Ratchet and Clank to finish, a bunch more stars to get in Mario Galaxy, I haven't even taken the shrink-wrap off RE4Wii yet, I've got to do the last level in Zack and Wiki plus some collecting, and I have to wrap up Phantom Hourglass. Oh, and when time permits, I may start working on Brass Balls with the new DLC in BioShock.
Why the dirty looks? I'm a multi-platform gamer and proud of it! Besides, while I bought my 360 specifically for Mass Effect, I just can't justify getting the game until my "MUST PLAY" stack gets a little bit shorter...

Guitar Hero 3 is getting a load of plays, I'm terrible but trying to 5 star normal mode...which would be a MASSIVE achievment for me :P

Just finished up Ass Creed and sent it back to gamefly...it was nice but it did get repetitive after about the 5th assassination. And the ending...I guess I'll look forward to Ass Creed Dos.
Gamefly sent Stranglehold to replace Creed, but it probably won't come till next week, but that's okay, cuz I got CoD4 for $40 at CCity!
I just started playing that on Vet, and boy is it hard (but fun).
Beyond that, I'll probably play some GH3and possibly NFSMW to get more chievers.

Just for the record my go through ME took 36 hours so your right on track at 17.
Just after you pop it you'll be able to do it again faster.

I have no idea. Just finished Metal Gear Ac!d 2 and Stranglehold, so I'm not sure. Maybe Mass Effect and Rock Band/Guitar Hero II/III. Probably will start Alien Syndrome on the PSP as well.
