In an offer that can be filed under the holy-wowzaz-that's-clearance-priced-Mr.-Clearance-man file, Walmart is offering the
Halo 3 Legendary edition for $59.82. Which is like half off of retail! The Legendary edition is available in-store or online where you'll have to pay shipping and tax. That is unless you use Walmart's "site to store" option where they ship it to your local Walmart of choice for free and all you have to do is pick it up. But that's the deal guys, $60 for
Halo 3, the cat helmet and all the bonus content. We hear it makes the perfect holiday gift.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

I knew it, I knew this day will come. Patience is golden. Off to Wallmart.
xenocidic @ Dec 14th 2007 11:39AM
I'll say it before, and I'll say it again - early adopters be damned !
pandlcg @ Dec 14th 2007 12:02PM
Did Bungie just make way too many of these or something. It feels like every other week there is one special or another that has some kind of discount on the legendary edition.
xenocidic @ Dec 14th 2007 12:09PM
If the helmet had actually been wearable by anyone other than a 12-year old , it would have sold out.
mattclarkie @ Dec 14th 2007 3:49PM
Yeah, I always see 12 year olds with slot shaped heads. What a stupid comment to make.
VOS @ Dec 14th 2007 12:03PM
Sucks for people like me and the rest who bought it day one. Oh well, this shit always happens.
Josh @ Dec 14th 2007 12:04PM
It was well worth the extra money...I have no regrets.

Sometimes I wonder what "limited" even means anymore.
Mark @ Dec 14th 2007 2:30PM
The definition has never changed "Limited" editions mean that there's a limited production run and no more of those version will be made. There will never be a reprint if quantities run out. But "limited" doesn't mean anything about the supply vs demand. Limited editions can have more supply than demand and then you see them everywhere. This is a good example of that.

I read this at http://www.unscripted360.com/2007/12/13/halo-3-legendary-edition-5982/ yesterday, definately a great deal
mike @ Dec 14th 2007 12:29PM
its not limited, its legendary. I would hardly consider a product which has 1 million + copies made (legendary edition) to be limited. This is why I did not buy it, knew they just over produced it as a bonus content crapfest and nothing limited. I didnt even buy at $60 because I know I can find one on ebay in 5 years for $10. These things will never be worth anything, they (microsoft) simply made too many of them. I say save the $ and buy a regular edition for like $30-40 now.
ryan @ Dec 14th 2007 5:24PM
i still find copies of the "limited" edition of Halo 2 for sale. it had the best metal case for a limited edition. the limited edition Halo 3 one i got kinda sucks, so huge, you can't even put it in a dvd tower...and it scratches like a mother.
Matt @ Dec 14th 2007 12:37PM
Obviously, MS expected this and that's why they lied about the alleged "limited" availability at launch. They had plenty to go around and just wanted to create additional hype about the Legendary Edition and sell as many as they could.
Kryptinite @ Dec 14th 2007 12:41PM
Even though I have the limited edition, I'm getting the Legendary one with out a questions. I mean, you can't pass this up.

I'll admit it, even though I own the game this is very tempting.
Tony @ Dec 14th 2007 1:21PM
I don't know, when something is individually numbered I tend to think it's part of a limited set. Not a million lol.
Chapter11 @ Dec 14th 2007 1:29PM
Will people PLEASE stop calling it cat helmet? It's practically life-sized. The only reason most people can't wear it is because there is no hole to fit it over your head.
Quote the Raven @ Dec 14th 2007 2:24PM
I have the collectors edition and I had to pick up this up. It's a really good deal. It's a must have for the game room mantle!.... Well at $130 it's nuts, at $60 it's a must have.
mattclarkie @ Dec 14th 2007 3:54PM
Only in the US, and maybe Canada. In Europe they really did sell out in pre-order. There are forums full of people who couldn't get them in the UK, and many shops took too many pre-orders. MS would have been better sending more to Europe, as the US clearly got too many of them.
I think it was worth every penny. I was annoyed the cut-scenes weren't HD, but they were still great to watch. And I love my helmet, I stroke it before I go to sleep. It is on my Bedside table.

this blows, i just bought the limited edition at amazon for $50 and now this shit pops up! damn!
ediddy999 @ Dec 16th 2007 12:54PM
I ordered this on Friday and it arrived on my door on Saturday. This may be the fastest shipping of our time.
Timerider @ Dec 18th 2007 2:35PM
Too bad I already bought the limited edition. I don't want to buy the same game again, even with the extras. Though it is tempting.
Timerider @ Dec 18th 2007 2:38PM
It's back to $130 now. Oh well.
