Ever since we
heard Valve was creating a Weighted Companion Cube plushie for their online store we've been dreaming nightly (literally, nightly) about cuddling with our boxy friend. We've carried with us a sick, twisted fantasy about wanting to hug one. And now we can, because the time has with the release of the Companion Cube to the
Valve Store in 100% huggable form. Both a Companion Cube
plushie and a pair of
fuzzies can be purchased for $29.95 plus shipping. But don't let the price deter you, think of all the enjoyment you'll get with your very own Companion Cube to love, care for, think about, obsess over and lose all rational thought to. We're getting three.
[Thanks, Steve]

Damn Lucky @ Dec 15th 2007 12:55PM
You do know that fuzzy dice are illigeal to hang on your rear view mirror? (At lest in Canada)
XD
xenocidic @ Dec 17th 2007 8:51AM
Only when the car is in motion
LesbianHam @ Dec 15th 2007 12:57PM
Yea 30 nuggets.. thats a bit steep :/
But then again, thats only £15! :D
Wait, that's still too fucking much :(
Silverlotus @ Dec 15th 2007 1:00PM
$30 isn't so bad, but the $27 to ship anywhere outside of the U.S. is ridiculous. There are much more reasonable shipping methods available.
matthew.galla @ Dec 15th 2007 1:18PM
From the shipment page of the Valve store, I was under the impression that they do not ship outside of the U.S.
Where did you see this $27.00 thing?
Silverlotus @ Dec 15th 2007 1:28PM
The shipping page says: "International Customers: Please select the International Shipment Method (option E) when placing your order. Additional shipping charges apply to international orders. Failure to designate International Shipment Method may cause delay or cancellation of your order."
Option E is "International Fed. Express – $27.00"
matthew.galla @ Dec 15th 2007 1:30PM
Quite right it seems... although that would push the already unreasonably priced companion cube into astronomical territory.
$70 for a plushie and a coffee mug, no thanks
Mr. Stabby Mouse feat. Hat @ Dec 15th 2007 1:14PM
This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
AnOffday @ Dec 15th 2007 1:19PM
Looks cool, but 30 bucks? Are you serious? It's a little fuzzy cube. Get realistic.
JakubK666 @ Dec 15th 2007 2:27PM
Depends on how big it is...I don't believe Valve would charge 30 bucks for a little fuzzy cube to hang on your car-mirror
TeDro @ Dec 15th 2007 3:25PM
it's also your companion cube! at least you don't have to destroy it in an incinerator.
therpham @ Dec 15th 2007 1:29PM
Not cube-shaped and too expensive. Sadly, the fan-made ones appear to be better.
I am disappointed.
Femric @ Dec 15th 2007 6:51PM
I'm a fan of the game, but this is stupid. $30, they can keep there little cubes.
Magic Whiskey @ Dec 15th 2007 2:58PM
I NEED to freaking PLAY Orange Box! Dammit.
Diamondxp @ Dec 15th 2007 3:47PM
Next they will be selling Cake.....
JakubK666 @ Dec 15th 2007 4:14PM
And an Aperture Science Portal Device :) And how about a miniature version of Glados with a built in 2 litres of a 100% Deadly Nerve Gas!
Shinobi Burger @ Dec 16th 2007 8:36AM
The cake is a lie
BananaBoat @ Dec 15th 2007 5:33PM
My sister once spent over 100 dollars on a "plushie" from the Disney Store, so 30 dollars isn't exactly outrageous. Still though, there is a snowballs chance in hell of me spending 30 dollars on this thing.
Hey Apples @ Dec 16th 2007 4:01AM
It's only 6 inches cubed.
As much as I love the idea, I'm not about to be gauged. It would have to be twice the size or usable as a throw pillow/bean bag for that kind of money.
Shane @ Dec 16th 2007 10:29AM
The cubes themselves are already sold out.
R0B3RT @ Dec 21st 2007 1:47PM
Now the main main cube is 100 and sold out the mug isnt bad but sold out.. sigh
