Forged Halo 3 "marble maze" is inspiring
While cruisin'' through Digg we came across a video by mus65tang1 featuring some interesting forging on Foundry involving the soccer ball. Mus65tang1 created what he calls a "marble maze" which is a rather cool series of lifts, ramps and shield doors setup to carry the soccer ball through Foundry. It isn't over the top spectacular, but it's entertaining and it inspired us. It inspired us to not only create our own marble maze of sorts, but to convert ours into a Rube Goldberg machine. And so, per Rube Goldberg rules, we must create a "marble maze" that completes a simple task. Maybe our soccer maze will complete the task of blowing up fusion cores, releasing a mongoose to drive or capturing a flag for us. Yeah, that'd be cool. Or our Rube Goldberg forging inspiration will end like it always does; after ten minutes we give up, resort to childish behavior and blow crap up. That'll probably be what happens.

who won the stupid Halo maps? You never said. I'm guessing it's your favorite ass kissers huh?
David W. @ Dec 16th 2007 6:16PM
umm...most of the time the people who win aren't even posters on here...they only post for the contest entries...so I don't see where your ass kissers comment is coming from?
Larry *not allowed to say cheevo* @ Dec 17th 2007 10:32AM
I don't think they are posting the names of the winners anymore. I suppose it is because of the uproar that is caused when someone who only posts on contests wins. However, I being one of the winners of a recent contest, can say that regular posters DO WIN! w00t! Although, I'm still waiting for my prize... :)

post some Grifball videos. that alone might make me spend $10 on maps.

How do you get the items to hang in the air like that? Like they did with the ramps.
NukeAssault @ Dec 16th 2007 6:37PM
To suspend something in air you need to put something below the object you want to float and then delete the below object. For Ex: i place a box on the floor and then put another box on top. I just delete the bottom box and the top one is suspended.

I created a marble "maze" before these guys. I'll upload the video tomorrow on youtube. Granted mines doesn't run as smooth as this one but its a continuous loop...oh what the hell, I guess I was beating to it. ::cries::

Great stuff! I guess he spent a lot of time to create it!
hellvector @ Dec 16th 2007 10:03PM
I respect his dedication more than anything. Yes it is a pretty awesome video and such, but the fact he took the time to make it is what's amazing.
Jigsaw hc @ Dec 16th 2007 11:07PM
Nice work.
Zeus the God @ Dec 16th 2007 11:38PM
This is nothing. Go to YouTube and search up "gmod rube goldberg" and you will get many videos of machines 10 times better than this.
zourskittles @ Dec 17th 2007 9:57AM
You didn't read it right, the videos not supposed to be a Rube Goldberg Machine, Dustin just said it inspired him to build one.
icedpanthernab @ Dec 17th 2007 12:55PM
Sorry about the ass kisser part, I just wanna win dammit. I need those maps and my ass is broke. 36o games bankrupt me every week. When the odds are 1 in 200 I got to wins.
Timerider @ Dec 18th 2007 2:15PM
I knew this sort of thing would start showing up.
