It's true!
Command & Conquer is
officially headed into the FPS tactical realm with today's announcement of
Tiberium for the Xbox 360. And actually, all the rumors we've heard about
Tiberium ended up being correct. It'll feature its own unique blend of FPS gameplay that mixes in some tactical combat strategy, a deep and engaging plot and weapons that are explosively fun. It'll be a lot like
C&C, but in FPS form. Oh joy! Click the jump link to read the full press release and start pondering what
Tiberium will be like on the 360. Just imagine ion cannon strikes. We're sure they'll
boom really good in first person.

Please Please Please don't let this be a repeat of CC Renegade, that was terrible but hopefully they have learnt from their mistakes in that awful game and will make a kick ass game.

Oh god, not another damn FPS. Yeah, no thanks.

Haha! Would you prefer cake mania or Fusion Frenzy 3?;) They are making what is selling.

Come on - C&C Renegade wasn't that bad - in fact I really enjoyed it. Everyone disses it for some reason. I bet most never even played it... not that I'm saying that's the case with you. I just quite liked it.

I agree, there are still a lot of people playing it online even now. It wasn't perfect, but it was fun.

I really hope this has online play similar to Renegade, that was my first online game, and there have still been none like it
xenocidic @ Dec 18th 2007 1:47PM

no news tip for me? :(
oh well.
i'm interested in this game, but seeing as how EA's making it, it could end up to be complete shit.

I agree. The only fun FPS that ea made was Battlefield for the PC... Let the comment wars begin!

Renegade had a terrible single player, but such a unique and fun multiplayer, I really hope they make this one's multiplayer similar. Sneaking into an enemy base with an APC full of engineers and technicians to blow up the enemy's powerplant with C4's was one of the coolest multiplayer experiences I ever had. And of course, super weapons like the Nuke and Ion cannon strike's have never been in another FPS multiplayer game.

I loved Renegade! I bought it again recently and I still love playing it. It runs well on my crappy old laptop aswell. Sure, it's a bit basic by todays standards, but at the time it was a solid game.
Sp00ks @ Dec 19th 2007 9:06AM
I liked the ideas in Renegade...just not very well executed, but then again, it was their first attempt. I like the idea of creating buildings and running through them FPS style, blowing crap up. Hopefully, they can do this thing right.
