There's a little treat for
BioShock fanboys on the XBLM right now (if you can even
get online) and it's strategic-er-ific! BradyGames just released six
BioShock strategy guide videos to the Marketplace yesterday and they aim to show players where all the audio diaries are located. And good news, they're actually free! Yup, unlike BradyGames' horribly overpriced
Gears of War COG location videos, these
BioShock videos are free and in HD. True, this content could have been more helpful a few months ago, but it's a step in the right direction so we support BradyGames and their free content. And you should too. Give the free guides a download, find those diaries and unlock that "Historian" achievement. Because we all know you aren't getting "
Brass Balls".

I just picked up Bioshock in the sales, not played it yet. So I rushed onto the XBLM, only to find out they aren't in the UK. Hopefully they are just late arrivals, but as with most free stuff I fear they are US exclusive.
aeron @ Dec 23rd 2007 1:26PM
why don't you just make an american account?
callum henderson @ Dec 23rd 2007 2:16PM
because you might get banned? I cant see it on the UK marketplace either.
callum henderson @ Dec 23rd 2007 2:28PM
Found them - go to the marketplace blade - video store - game videos - game tips and support - bradygames strategy and they are at the bottom.
Theres 6 and they are 500mb each! Good job Ive got 1100/1100 :)
Robert @ Dec 23rd 2007 3:00PM
I got the brass balls achievement its easy after arcadia.
Jayslacks @ Dec 23rd 2007 4:15PM
Brass Balls is only easy if you harvest. I just got it and I'm super proud of that achievement.
Robert @ Dec 23rd 2007 7:36PM
Harvest what a pussy you havent lived till youve roughed it on bioshock by saving them. the only upside to harvesting them is about 20 more adam see that against all the crap you get for saving them
OBM @ Dec 23rd 2007 4:43PM
Wow! OMGzzz a fake account being banned, that's horrific! [/sarcasm]
anyway, there would be no fun in releasing these videos when Bioshock was released, the whole point is to go looking for them yourself.
Etchasketchist @ Dec 24th 2007 3:29AM
I think they ban the box.
JakubK666 @ Dec 23rd 2007 5:10PM
It would be more useful if it was a game with some replayability... Halo 3 or CoD 4 multi guide would be a lot nicer than some over-hyped shooter, everybody played through and forgot about it...
killploki @ Dec 23rd 2007 5:28PM
here, i did up a little strategy guide for you for multiplayer:
halo3: kill other team, dont die.
cod4:kill other team, dont die, call airstrike.
try out these strategies and let me know how you make out.
JakubK666 @ Dec 23rd 2007 6:08PM
Kill the bad guys and don't die...isn't it the aim of majority of console games (with the exception to Bioshock , thanks to vita-chambers every 30 meters...well Yahtzee was right)
And I would rather know multiplayer secrets (camping/hiding spots and crap) for the games people will play for the next 4 years than a guide to a game that everybody played (as long as they cared about it in first place)
Etchasketchist @ Dec 24th 2007 3:31AM
You would be more useful if you wouldn't troll Bioshock threads trying to start shit.
Robert Aitchison @ Dec 24th 2007 2:06PM
Seriously Bioshock has more replayability than any game I've ever played, I'm currently on my third trip through (going for the Brass Balls) and every time has been a completely different experience.
callum henderson @ Dec 23rd 2007 5:15PM
Are you sure they cant trace it back to which machine the account is on and realize if a UK account is then using the downloadable stuff from the US account. I just finished the brass balls achievement today - it took AGES to get it working, I had to create the silver account to re-download the downloadable content as it wouldn't give me the achievement. Bioshock is one of the best games ever made in my opinion and there are rumors of a sequel :D
JakubK666 @ Dec 23rd 2007 6:12PM
As far as I know the story , there isn't much space for a sequel...curse of story ending. If it end with a cliffhanger, we're all pissed , if it end's with a simple basic (kinda still a cliffhanger define: Halo 3) we're pissed and if it ends with a proper story then yeah , we're pissed again since there isn't space for a sequel...
OBM @ Dec 23rd 2007 5:34PM
who cares if they trace it back? the only thing they can say is "oh no, you used your money on us, but laws for copyright state blah blah, your account will be banned!" the account you make will be made up, with a made up address, so what difference does it make if they ban it? go make a new hotmail email address and make another 1 :)
Tony @ Dec 24th 2007 2:01AM
If they can clearly tell that the two accounts are on the same system (which by most standards wouldn't be that hard for them to do) what exactly is barring them from blocking both? There's a reason why they have identification for each system coded into the hardware.
If they really cared to do something about it (which is doubtful in most cases to begin with), I can't imagine them half-assing it and stopping with the "fake" account.
OBM @ Dec 24th 2007 10:12AM
You think MS is going to be mad you're spending money on an international account? mmmm indeed, they only stop if because they have to with copyright laws for TV shows, films etc.
callum henderson @ Dec 23rd 2007 6:15PM
@ Jakub666
Yeah I didnt think there was much possibility. There was an interview however where Ken was talking about it and he kind of hinted at the fact there may be another. Who knows - mabey its based during the war in rapture? That would be insanely awesome. To be honest Anything involving the current story would be awesome in my opinion and I agree with what you said about game endings - nobodies ever happy nowadays but I freekin love this game :P
Ryan @ Dec 23rd 2007 6:33PM
I thought it was already posted here that there was indeed going to be a Bioshock 2, and that Ken Levine was not going to be involved?
callum henderson @ Dec 23rd 2007 7:01PM
It will be crap then :(
thadwhit @ Dec 23rd 2007 7:03PM
Sweet, I actually just started playing this recently and am trying to get all the tape recorders. Got the widescreen update and the new plasmids. Also got the game for 50 bucks with a free copy of "The Darkness" thrown in from Amazon. Sometimes it pays to wait a couple months. Oh I just got my COD4 in the mail yesterday from Amazon as well for 40 bucks. Sweet deals, Sweet deals. Not to mention my 60 buck Halo 3 Legendary Edition. Woot.
bigmac375 @ Dec 23rd 2007 10:07PM
cool use of that pic
docLEXfisti @ Dec 24th 2007 5:39AM
hmmm, it's 50 Marketplace Points a Vid now. So was that offer only valid for 12-24 hrs or so? Too bad I came too late ...
apart from that, Merry Christmas everyone! Keep up the good work on X3F!

mattclarkie @ Dec 24th 2007 6:03AM
You're right. I missed them because they make them so damned hard to find. They aren't listed under the game, they aren't listed under New Arrivals, you actually have to know where to find them, there is no way to stumble accross them as they are right at the bottom, below hundreds of Darkness vids.
Screamscape @ Dec 24th 2007 8:31AM
This sucks, now the guides a 50 points each?
I was finding it impossible to find them for 3-4 minutes when an ADD as a exclusive benefit for Gold Members poped up to take me right to them... only to find out that they are listed for 50 points. What happened? This is messed up.
Anyone YouTube their videos yet?
