Share your '08 resolutions with X3F

Well fanboys, it's a new year, and with a new year come new year's resolutions (and game of the year awards). As people begin a brand new year, they attempt to start with a clean slate, get a fresh start. Some people try to quit smoking or find a way to better themselves. Considering our readers are all gamers, we thought maybe some people out there might like to share their gaming resolutions. Don't scoff, as there are plenty of worthy resolutions to be made. For example, resolving to not spend as much money on games, or perhaps resolving to try a new genre. As for us, our new year's resolution is ... 1080p (ba dum bum, ch!). But seriously folks, it probably is time for us to stop buying retro Xbox Live Arcade games in the middle of the night. A note to the wise, they are never as good as you remember them.

So, how about you? Got any resolutions to share?

Well, december 31st is was anniversary with my girlfriend... to my surprise she got me ROCKBAND! My new years resolution is to rock.

It should say 08 resolutions.I think you had a little too much to drink.My New year's resolution is to try to find a way to earn money to get all the video games I want.There's only about 30 that I want to get starting with World in Conflict.

This year I plan to be selective on games and not doing useless trades at places like EB Games as I pay more than I get back. I'd like to get my gamerscore up to 15K by years end and maybe marry a llama. Okay, the last one was for shock value.

I'm just going to try and do my best in school and fit in some gaming. Also I'm going to use my new live account to train my Halo skills and pwn my friends.

1. I plan on losing some weight (c'mon gamers we all need to lose a little), around 40lbs. My goal is a healthy 175.

2. Read 24 books this year! Last year I hit around 12 going to try and double it this year.

3. I would like to double my gamerscore try and hit 20 grand.

and probably the hardest
4. Try and get the wife to play at least one game with me.

This year I am looking for a more well rounded me, well at least with out the weight!

In 2008 I resolve:

-To get another Hori stick and teach my roommates how to fight me like a (Virtua) man.

-To play at least one Japanese RPG all the way through to the end.

-To master a non-American sports game (Forza, Pro-Evo, or NHL)

-To see everything there is to see on the Mass Effect disc.

-To continue filling in the gaps of my gaming knowledge due to 6 years of Dreamcasting by accumulating a decent backwards compatible Xbox collection.

-To beat my co-worker Gibby in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike on our MAME cabinet.

-To make the King of All Cosmos proud of me and my Katamari.

-to beat all the games i have before buying more. namely: COD4 & The Orange Box.
-to be more active, walking, biking, skateboarding
-to take better care of myself physically & mentally
-lose 40 lbs. that i gained in three years of marriage
-take time to read more:Heroes Vol.1, Edge, NGM, etc.
-to be more conscience of the environmental impact of my choices
-to not buy as much crap and to get out of debt

Make the most of living somewhere surrounded by snowy mountains, and get out on my snowboard as much as possible.

On a game related note though, I am resolved that I'm going to overtake a particular friend's gamerscore, and that I'm going to finish the drums on Rock Band on Expert if it kills me. Which it may just. If my downstairs neighbour doesn't first.
