Highlander game exists, remaining fan excited

In our many travels, we have met all manner of geek, nerd, and weirdo. Sure, we all know about Trekkies and Browncoats and Jedi wannabes, but there is another more secret class. We are speaking, of course, of the Highlander nerd. The kind of nerd that swings a replica samurai sword as he screams "there can be only one!" his voice distorted by the rattling of a retainer. It is for this fan (and for all the fans that have successfully grown out of their "awkward phase") that we inform the masses about the impending Highlander video game from Eidos. Not only does the game exist, but there is a trailer for it as well. We should warn you though, the video -- much like all the latest entries in the Highlander franchise -- is of extremely poor quality. Also, the fact that the protagonist has lived for hundreds of years and somehow managed to retain his thick Scottish brogue is a little strange. Still, we're sure these annoyances are mere trifles to the dedicated Highlander fan, so click on to see the trailer for yourself.

I will only consider playing this if the main character is Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod. and he must say that, regularly.

It's not Duncan MacLeod, but it IS a MacLeod.

So no sequel or trilogy for this game, right...?

So....
After roaming the known world for over 2,000 years, fighting in such place as Pompei and Japan, he makes his way to Scotland/Ireland (sorry, not a huge Highlander fan) and decides to keep his Scottish/Irish accent for the rest of his immortal life?
Though I will admit, that if done well, sword fighting throughout the ages would be cool. Hopefully you won't have to be the aforementioned "Highlander nerd" to appreciate the game and that a standard nerd could understand and enjoy the game as well.

Go Gandalf! (Oh, wait.)
Actually I'll check this game out as I was a major geek in high school, having joined the Renaissance Club. Yeah, we had one. It was actually pretty cool; while some guys were in the band or something, I was among about thirty guys, learning choreographed broadsword fights with real 'theatrical', non-bladed swords and the 'swordmaster' was a guy named "Tinnous", who was a 7 foot, ponytailed fan of Highlander, and you can't easily ignore that type of person..
(http://starfireswords.com/info/home.php is where we all got our swords and parrying knives.) Yep I was a geek. Kinda still am...but meh.
Twelve years later, I now have a real sword collection, however...but that's for zombie slaying, not immortal alien-beheading.

The only good Highlander-related film to come out in recent years was the Highlander anime. That seriously kicked butt. It didn't merely focus on the whole Gathering/Quickening thing like every other story did, but followed two Immortals (one a rebel, the other a Roman Emperor who crucified the rebel's wife) as they fight throughout the centuries (England, Scotland, WWII [where the Emperor was a high-ranking Nazi], medieval Japan]. If this game can forget about the whole "There can be only one!" thing that's been done to death, it might be worth buying.

Looks awesome...should be fun!

Everyone I know loved Highlander: The Series. Either that, or they're lying to me. Again.
Best soundtrack ever, too. I think instead of this game, they should make Guitar Hero: Highlander Edition.

Connor MacLeod > Duncan MacLeod. Bloody heathens.
And I was more shocked that Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, Sean Connery's character, chose to keep his Scottish accent more... especially with a name that you're not likely to find in the highlands.
