Bungie's homegrown Forge tips

Bungie's Brian "Ske7ch" Jarrard has posted some Halo 3 maps he created before the holidays over at Bungie.net. As is all the rage these days, Ske7ch made his creations on Foundry, the map specifically designed for the Forge map editor. In addition to explaining each map in detail and the inspirations behind them, Ske7ch also gives a few modest tips to would be Forgers. First and foremost, those wishing to design a map should think about exactly what kind of map is being made. Maps should be designed with certain game types in mind, like CTF, Slayer, or Assault. Another practical tip is using crates to help line up wall placements. Other things to keep in mind: Forging in multiplayer may not be the best idea, give players landmarks (signs, set pieces, etc.) to help them navigate the map, and remember to just keep at it. how do you rotate items in the forge mode and also how do make things float in midair i was on my friends map that he made on last resort, gamertag (crosstownfever) and he had stuff floating in midair

play3rhat3rs - To rotate and object in forge, pick it up, hold RT and use RS to rotate, and LS to adjust distance from the camera. And this is how to make stuff float! i would suggest going to Sandtrap. On a nice, flat spot, stack two crates on top of each other. Make sure they stand up sturdy, and place a teleporter's reciver node on top. Delete the two crates underneath, and and if done correctly, you should have a nice place to put a crate. And plus, be VERY creative about your forges! And one more tip: If you want to forge a favorite map, like The Pit, delete EVERYTHING off of it, and save it as "Stripper" or "Blank" or something you can recongnise it by, then it will be easier to forge!

Is it just me who wants to have forge in matchmaking
i know it'll be pretty weird but still pretty sweet

Oh yes... that would be nice. Maybe along with the other social playlists they could add forge. I would be very cool with that.

Me and my friend just play slayer in forge :) it's pretty satisfying dropping a wraith on someone :) haha

and I've been making race tracks on rats nest lately...it actually got me playing halo again, haha

I recently downloaded some dude's (I forget their name) "Stack Reborn" which is a remake of Stack from Goldeneye. It's creative and done really well and pretty much the only map I've been playing, since. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
