Hey, that's great! Maybe we can ask the developers where the hell the DLC is.
"Harmonix is leaving you guys in the dust with DLC. How are you going to combat that?"
Hey Apples @ Jan 17th 2008 2:30PM
My parties are already rocked. They have this thing called Rock Band.
GH3 trying to paint itself in that niche is like a fat woman trying to fit in a bikini.
Mat @ Jan 17th 2008 2:40PM
Man the Rock Band fanboys are getting as old as the console fanboys.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Jan 17th 2008 2:48PM
Right? And what's so silly about it is they're basically the same game.. Same Gameplay different songs. It just doesn't make any sense to hate one or the other..
Mark @ Jan 17th 2008 3:11PM
Similar gameplay if you only look at solo and co-op guitar or basically, just the areas where they overlap. (sarcasm) I'm having trouble getting my drums and Band World Tour mode to work in GH3. I'm also having trouble getting star power while I'm using it.
If I want to play some solo guitar and Rock Band is already in the system, then I'm usually fine with just playing that. I can "earn while I burn" and basically play the same game. If anyone else is over, then Rock Band goes in the system because I can't play multi-player on GH3. So this means that I'm usually putting in Rock Band, but not GH3. If they were basically "the same game" then they should be even, right? Well, they're not.

Um, mat, you did realize that you were logging onto a "console fanboy" site when you typed in that URL, right?
That said, yeah, Rock Band for the win.
Mat @ Jan 17th 2008 3:31PM
LOL I meant the Sony-MS rivalry... Hey I own and like them both. But news on one shouldn't necessarily force everyone to make snippy comments about one or the other.
Music is universal! Love and peace and all the nonsense for all!!
Imagine all the people... playing Rock Band and GH togetherrrrrrrrr....
Knight Marquise @ Jan 17th 2008 3:58PM
Mat, agreed.
There are only 2 things I like better in Rock Band over GH:
Starpower utilization & Solo sections. (drums were a huge disappointment)
I prefer GH 2 & 3 over Rockband when it's just me or me and one of the kids. Hell, I liked Steel Battalion better then Rock Band.
However, when large gatherings occur, it's either Rock Band or Scene It simply due to accommodating larger groups.

Yeah, my initial comment was more in the way of disgust because there's pretty much been jack for DLC for GH3 comparatively speaking.
I have GHII, III, and RB, and I've bought all the DLC for all of them. And every week I look forward to Tuesdays when new RB DLC comes out.
I can't help but compare that to what we've gotten for GH3. Which ain't much, lately.
In light of that, a few gamerpics and the chance to get a viral achievement that virtually everybody already has seems pretty weak.

Who likes to rock the party?
I like to rock the party!
baby sea tuna @ Jan 17th 2008 4:09PM
And all this time I thought you just liekd mudkipz.
icehockeyhair @ Jan 17th 2008 3:29PM
Balls, it's US only. Just like Rock Band is at the moment. As the the rest of the world is still playing GH£ with no real rival in the genre, I guess Activision don't feel they need to bother making an effort with us. And that makes me a saaaaaaaaaaad panda.
Cameron @ Jan 17th 2008 8:25PM
no
mistian @ Jan 18th 2008 2:15AM
it did say US only and then right after that Canadian winner will need to answer a skill testing question? and my two cents worth is that GH is way more fun to play than rock band
