Frogger 2 is scheduled for a leap onto the XBLA

Coming from those folks over at the ESRB, Frogger 2 has been rated and will be hopping onto the Xbox Live Arcade sometime in the near future. And it's also a guarantee that Jeff Minter will be infuriated times two.

There is a bit of confusion though to exactly which Frogger 2 the XBLA version will be based off of. The ESRB listing uses a generic "Frogger 2" title, while there have been two Frogger 2's created in the past, Swampy's Revenge and Threeedeep! Whichever Frogger 2 it ends up being, we'll be excited come launch day for the sole reason of hearing what Minter has to say. Frogger 2 and a lengthy Minter rant (with an angry undertone) are incoming. Cover your ears!

I have figured it out. It's Frogger. No not the already-on-XBLA-version but the 1997 remake. Threedeep=obscure.
Swampy's Revenge=unexplained backstory.
Frogger(1997)=3D upgrade.

I don't know if this has been reported on yet but, in the Feb. gameinformer magazine they have a little write up in the cheats section about a rocky and bullwinkle game coming to the XBLA. I was wondering if there is more info. Oh and frogger 2 do not want.

Bit of a childish remark against Jeff though. Probably wasn't his best move having a rant like he did, but surely you've just lowered the standards yourself by having a dig of him in public.

Despite the success of Space Giraffe, Jeff put as must passion in that game more than most people do.

It's fair game. If Minter didn't want to be quoted, he shouldn't have posted it very publicly on his blog.

I'm going to send him some frog's legs. Being an animal activist, that should be a double whammy for Jeff. (grin)

as angry video game developer rants go, it's short and full of more self-pity and sadness than anger and vitriol. It's nothing compared to what we're used to hearing from David "Fuck Halo" Jaffe or Tomonubu "Fuck Tekken" Itagaki. Frogger is wack. If Frogger outsold your game you'd be pissy too and you might write an offhand remark about your feelings on your own friggin' LiveJournal. Big deal. Whenever people point and laugh at Minter it just comes off as super dorky and mean-spirited. Seriously, listen to yourselves, you're mocking Jeff Minter. Ooh. Tough guys. Beating up on the sad old hippie-geek. Go you.
