Live won't let me download this or "The Club" demo, damn things always acting up.
Anticrawl @ Jan 23rd 2008 10:59AM
Honestly with no online multiplayer to sample "The Club" demo is a bust. They should just throw out the single-player and focus on the multiplayer, add in a little more content and whatnot.
Corleone @ Jan 23rd 2008 10:59AM
@ NERRRD agreed, the demo sucks.
We have been way to spoiled with shooters like COD 4 and Bioshock.
My question is why do they even bother with games like this one......can you say bargain bin??
David W. @ Jan 23rd 2008 11:46AM
I completely agree...COD4 is going to be really hard to beat...
Not too long ago a Microsoft developer said today's games were still only using a fraction of the 360's potential...I'm curious to know how much of that COD4 uses...Because that game is intense...and pretty, lol
Corleone @ Jan 23rd 2008 11:00AM
Homer, you're not missing much with either of these demos, trust me.......deleted both of them.
Big Filth @ Jan 23rd 2008 11:45AM
the club demo is fun.
Project Ekim @ Jan 23rd 2008 12:22PM
Ya i thought the club would be bad im in love with the game beat insainty like 50 times.
max @ Jan 23rd 2008 2:46PM
Turning Point is a retarded pile of crap. terrible concept, terrible gameplay, terrible graphics, terrible controls.
mikewallbank9 @ Jan 23rd 2008 3:29PM
I actually like the concept, and i HOPE the demo isn't awful, we will see...
Pyronite @ Jan 30th 2008 1:51AM
Yeah man, I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but the concept is awesome.
LiquidPlague @ Jan 23rd 2008 2:40PM
Falls hard onto its face.
bigmac375 @ Jan 23rd 2008 3:29PM
i'll check this out for the interesting history rewrite
Homer 918 @ Jan 23rd 2008 4:46PM
Ok so why do I have as my options for looks sensitivity as either, medium which is slow and clunky as if I was drinking on the job or high which is like bullet train speed?
The only thing positive I have to say about this game is that it does look very nice, but the shooting fundamentals are terrible, as are the controls and taking me out of the experience everytime I use an object like a ladder!
kp @ Jan 23rd 2008 5:27PM
can't download undertow, cant download turning point demo either. just keep getting status code errors. so will MS give compensation when people aren't able to download their free game? i'm sure it'll be working shortly, but still its kinda sad. in the few years i've been using LIVE i've never had any trouble with it. its been a month since LIVE starting acting up, cmon MS get on the ball already.
Tobberoth @ Jan 24th 2008 8:35AM
I thought the demo was.... a dissappointment. The concept is REALLY good and the intro IS kind of epic, but could have been MUCH better.
The graphics aren't good enough, the level sucks, the shooting stinks, the concept is ruined by how easily a constructor kills waves of german soldiers... Yeah, a letdown.
Sambo @ Jan 25th 2008 6:56PM
MICROSOFT IS REALLY PISSING ME OFF RIGHT NOW!
With all this new restricted crap, I can't even download a friggin' Rating Pending game, even if it's T (looking at you "Frontlines"). This is really making me mad! If I can buy CoD4 at 16 ALL BY MYSELF, then I can download a Teen rated game demo! Such ridiculous BS that's taking over XBL! Seriously, WTF?!?!
Other than that, Microsoft better be lucky that FIFA Street 3 is an addictive demo, or else I'd be, as quoted by Ludacris, ACTING A FOOL!
jachap @ Jan 28th 2008 9:23AM
I thought I was just being overly critical when I hated the demo. Glad to see people feel the same way.
My full thoughts on the matter are here:

Be great to hear your comments.

Spark Unlimited's response:
Our Response to Player Feedback on the Turning Point Xbox 360 Demo
We just wanted to take a moment to personally thank everyone who took the time to download the Turning Point: Fall of Liberty demo and to comment on our work in progress. All of your feedback is very valuable to us and we are working hard to meet your expectations with the final version of the game.
Since the demo was finalized, the team has put several months of work into the code and we thought you might like to know that a number of questions raised by those trying the demo will be positively addressed in the final game.
For example:
Optimized targeting and movement: Optional control settings have been refined to alleviate sluggishness in the slowest setting and the 'on ice' feeling at the faster settings. Also, a user-defined soft lock has been added which means that controls can be set so once an enemy is hit with a bullet the crosshair will ‘stick’ to the target.
Refined AI behavior: The dynamic intelligence and pathfinding for enemies has also been enhanced. The 'hot point' based system should add to Turning Point’s replay experience.
Ammo levels and grappling optimized: Up until final submissions, the team has been listening to playtest feedback and doing everything possible to create a ‘civilian at war’ feeling. The end result is an experience more visceral than the demo, relying less on repeated ammo refills, and more on the grappling and the hand-to-hand combat.
Final Mip-mapping and texture levels: The art team has also been able to further optimize lighting, textures, and effects throughout the title.
Again, thank you for all your feedback and support as we finalize Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and continue to do everything possible to deliver on our goal of creating a fantastic and entertaining experience for you.
Sincerely,
The Team at Spark Unlimited

nerrrrrrd @ Jan 23rd 2008 9:56AM
My first 30 second review... garbage!!!
anyone make it further? I do admit I was in a rush to get to work and didn't give it proper time and attention. But I can't resist a fresh demo in the morning!
