GTAIV officially dated April 29

Wow, the Devil May Cry 4 demo and the official release date for Grand Theft Auto IV in the same day? What did we do to deserve this? After a delay in late 2007 and the months of speculation that followed, Take Two has finally pinned down the official release date for the game, April 29. We should note that this is the worldwide release date for GTAIV, so gamers the world over can officially start getting excited now. If you're not excited, then perhaps you should direct your attention to the flood of previews that swept the internet yesterday. Once you've reached the proper level of excitement, please read this post again and react accordingly.

This is a purchase. Trying to stop reading previews for the game, I want to be completely surprised when I turn the 360 on. With a name like Smucker's®, it has to be good. I meant name like GTA.

the previews released yesterday certainly peaked my interests. As with any typical "idea to market" we can expect R* to be entering stage 5 of 6 very soon - i.e. RAMP up commericial prep - i.e "HOPEFULLY" bombard us with more screens, info and one last trailer which i bet will show at least a snippet of gamplay to push gamers over the edge into a purchase

CANT WAIT !! i still think saints row 2 could be a sleeper hit but i cant see it beating GTA 4 sales

I have an off topic question. Is their a way to create the red ring of death. The video on my 360 went out, I called customer support and they said it wasn't covered under the extended three year warranty only the three red rings. So I would like to create the three red rings and get if fixed under that warranty. Any suggestions? Should I try and overheat it?

that is uncanny - the same EXACT thing happened to me last night - i scheduled a repair so i hope they'll fix it :(

doesnt sound good though, if they wont, although my 360 does show up as under warranty till 3/31

Or, you could've told them that your Xbox RROD. I'm sure they wouldn't send you back a broken one, they have plenty of refurbished systems.

But since you already called them, they might have some notes that your issue is not RROD related.

I have Dark Messiah, the Club and Dark Sector to deal with in Feb and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 in March.

It sucks to hear, but it's good to see a real date. I was really hoping for an early March release... I had it preordered last July and canceled it when they changed the date to F1/2008 because I didn't want my cash sitting in Gamestop's bank for an extra 3-4 months. Now I put it back on preorder and was hoping to chain Burnout Paradise into GTA4, but it looks like I'll have to find something else to do in the meantime... maybe another Wii game...?
