Last chance to download free Undertow

Microsoft's apology download Undertow has been a free game download since Wednesday, January 23rd and will continue to be free until this evening. Then, tonight at 11:59PM pacific, Microsoft will be flipping the switch and revert Undertow back to its 800 Microsoft point price tag. So, if you have yet to get your download on, we advise getting your bum on the couch and scheduling two minutes out of your Sunday to head to the XBLM and download Undertow. Now, if you miss out, you have nobody else to blame but yourself and possibly your parents for handing down lazy genetics.

Sgt Barone @ Jan 27th 2008 9:11AM
My 360's in the shop, but i took my HDD over to my friends last night and got it just in time. It's a very good game and i look forward to playing it more in 2 weeks.
petersjov @ Jan 27th 2008 9:41AM
"beeep" ...somebody, Undertow is not free in denmark, and we have had shit load of problems too, over chistmas, ohh and a few days ago.
JakubK666 @ Jan 27th 2008 11:08AM
Make an US or UK account!
petersjov @ Jan 28th 2008 1:39AM
Hi i just think: we also have had a lot of trouble, so why dont we get anything ???
James @ Jan 27th 2008 10:11AM
A word from "Bloody Baroness", a mod over at the xbox.com forums: if your 360 is in the shop (like mine), just call customer support and tell them. She said they'll give you the points so you can buy it when your console gets back. When I called, they actually gave me a "reference number", and said I should call back once I have my console and they'll fix me up. I wasn't sure if they meant a code to download the game for free, or points, but either way it's better than nothing.

If you live in the UK you have until 8am on Monday, or Tommorrow. Well that is what the advert on the XBLM said. You can take that with a pinch of salt if you want.
BluesmanTLU @ Jan 27th 2008 11:23AM
Or if you're like me, and your phone line is killed and you've been waiting two weeks for the internet people to come repair the connection. I'm SOL I guess.

I dont have myself or my parents to blame...i have my university for blocking LIVE on the uni network :(
DarkNightRJ @ Jan 27th 2008 11:51AM
thats messed up
mattclarkie @ Jan 27th 2008 12:22PM
That is a common problem. I have alot of friends who can't Live while at Uni, but some Unis have specifically made Live work. Others have tried but the MTU of the Network make it impossible, and some block it on purpose.
Cole Mullenbach @ Jan 27th 2008 9:04PM
To DSK UK
My school does the same thing, but i found a way around it. If you have to sign in to the university network through a program like Cisco Clean Access (thats what my school uses) heres what you do.
1. Set the Alternate MAC address to the MAC of your computer. (I'm not sure if it matters if its your wireless or wired. I use the wired from my laptop.)
2. Log in on the computer that has the MAC you use
3. Try signing in on your xbox.
4. If that works unplug the ethernet from your computer or turn off the wireless. This is so the network doesnt get confused by having 2 of the same MAC addresses on the network at once.
That works at my school but your school may do things a bit differently than mine. I hope yo see this and try it in time to get your free game
Project Ekim @ Jan 27th 2008 12:07PM
You know whats really messed up Disney World Blocking Live, bastards....
xenocidic @ Jan 27th 2008 12:52PM
To be precise, Microsoft never specifically stated this was an apology
flameofdoom666 @ Jan 27th 2008 2:57PM
Your righyt, they didn't. They said it was in honor of breaking 2 Live records.
Alex @ Jan 27th 2008 12:59PM
I hope they have another game ready to giveaway because XBL has been shite all weekend.
mattclarkie @ Jan 27th 2008 1:11PM
This week has been okay, but last week I was taking 5 mins to sign into Live, and therefore my whole dashboard was just the working animation. I couldn't do anything until it managed to do whatever it does when it was doing that thing it did.
daflameking @ Jan 27th 2008 2:29PM
wtf. my xbox got red ringed 2 weeks ago, 3 days before they decided to give this at a limited time.
wtf can i do?!
flameofdoom666 @ Jan 27th 2008 2:58PM
Call Microsoft! 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
They will tkae care of you! Either free points, or give you a code to download Undertow.
Bootes @ Jan 27th 2008 4:15PM
I can't get on Xbox Live, it keeps tell me account sign up is down or something. :(
Paul @ Jan 27th 2008 2:59PM
okay me and my roommate both downloaded this game for free and tried to play it. the key word there is tried. it was not any fun, and we have an hdtv and our little guys on there were still hard to see. but, whatever. it was free so i can't complain i guess, but i would not have paid money for this piece of trash in the first place. we tried this game not for just 10 seconds we played for a good 10 or 15 minutes and will now never play it again....
George Arauz @ Jan 27th 2008 7:42PM
Ive got mine :)
Chase @ Jan 27th 2008 9:13PM
Last call on free Undertow. Undertow is a nice idea that is poorly-executed. The controls are just infuriating, and the game itself is unbalanced (see: classes, enemies, etc.). I would have actually preferred Ecco the Dolphin, as at least I already own it, and would have gotten 800 free points.
JCFG @ Jan 27th 2008 9:28PM
It may be free and all, but this game is pretty boring. Some people may totally like it, but man, im not up for this, too damn slow.
Spartan 117 @ Jan 28th 2008 12:37AM
It is a pretty slick game. For free anyway. Its fun for friends just just sit around and kill time and each other. Its worth playing.
G @ Jan 29th 2008 9:22PM
Yeah, I downloaded it, played it for 5 mins thought it sucked. End of story. they should have gave points to everyone.
