Team kill achievement in Turok is no more

Well, it looks like gamers can finally rest easy. Readers may recall that Turok was to include an achievement called "Grab Bag" that rewarded players for killing their own team members. Specifically, players had to kill "at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 teammate, and yourself in the same round of a public match." With griefing players already ruining multiplayer games everywhere, gamers were naturally upset when Turok's developers decided to actually reward them for it. Thankfully though, the devs at Propaganda have seen the light and will be altering the achievement with a launch day patch for the game. The achievement will remain in the game after the patch, but will now only require players to kill a creature, an enemy, and themselves. So it's mostly fixed, but don't be surprised if your teammates are constantly throwing grenades at their feet.

I don't think it's such a big deal since people will stop doing it once they have the achievement.

New people would be buying the game every day. New people would be playing every day. New people would be team-killing you every day.
It's a big deal because everybody doesn't get the game on the same day and get it over with all at once. It would be an ever-occurring thing.

This is still stupid. Now I have to avoid the pleora of players dropping grenades for an achievment? Play with gamers on a mission to commit suicide instead of playing the match? I will just avoid this game entirely.

I think you're missing the point. now instead of having to deal with players TEAMKILLING you and THEN dropping a grenade at their feet, you'll only have to deal with the latter.

Yea, what now, you're gonna avoid COD4? If I recall correctly you are awarded EXP for jumping and dieing off of a high fall.

this is dumb... it's just an achievement, why do people make such a big deal out of it? maybe when the game first launches you'll get killed once or twice but after a week or two it will practically stop. maybe one or two teamkills a week? oh well i'm probably not gonna buy this game anyway. starcraft 2 ftw!!
ZeroCorpse @ Jan 30th 2008 12:03AM
So, what do you get out of all these achievements, anyway? Do we get MS Points to buy things? Special prizes? What's the point to being an achievement whore?
If it's just bragging rights, then I retain the right to laugh wildly at anyone who brags about their achievement score.
