Developer Load Inc. and publisher SouthPeak
announced today that they're jumpin' back into the XBLA ring for another go with this Summer's release of
Things on Wheels. An RC racer that takes your racing adventures through the house and into the toilet. Sound like
Mad Tracks? Well, it sounds like
Mad Tracks to us too, but Load Inc. (who, wouldn't you know,
did make
Mad Tracks) promises that
Things on Wheels will be its own fresh racing experience. We'll see about that. One good thing
Things on Wheels has going for it is its art-style which can be previewed in the single teaser screenshot above. Enjoyable, no?
[Thanks, Boff]

I don't care if it's like Mad Trax, I just hope they ditch the mini-games and give us more tracks to race on.

"Through the house and into the toilet" I like that one. Hah.
Bleh... that's probably exactly where this game is headed...

It looks like an Unreal 3 Engine game.

We need a game that plays like Twisted Metal but with better graphics.

Are these the same people who made "Throw the Thing at The Thing" for the Wii?

i remeber an article on here a whiole back about a go carting racing arcade game. it looked killer, although i didnt have my xbox at the time so i shrugged it off, can anyone point me in the direction of that game or article at least?

Hopefully they will get it right and it will preform alot like the game below except with online and achievements of course.

I dont know why it got such bad reviews. It was the best rc racing game ever. and was quite challenging too 100% the game (Which would be great for todays achievements nowadays). If I recall correctly, the game had a track editor too.

Re-volt was awesome. I had the PC version, which was a lot cleaner graphically. I wouldn't mind seeing it adapted to XBLA.
The system really needs something Mario Kart or Micro Machines-esque and I just don't think Mad Trax cut it.

I LOVED Re-Volt, that was a great game. The PC version of it got much better ratings than the console version, and was a whole ton of fun.

Let's not forget that Mad Tracks, made by these people, had an utterly broken lobby that made online multiplayer utterly tedious and un-fun. They acknowledged that it had been grafted on at the last minute, and then basically said tough cookies, we're not fixing it.
So, don't be surprised if I'm very skeptical of anything they do. If a developer can't get online multiplayer right on XBLA, they don't have their eye on the ball.

Thanks for your warm comments!!
Yes, we'll be fixing the multiplayer lobby thing, of course.
ToW is a much mature racing only game, and another tribute to ReVolt, one of our favorite game.
Have fun,
Cheers,
Denis.
