Oh,
Gears of War 2, how we yearn for news about thee. Your presence has been long awaited, we've reserved a seat for you at the dinner table every night, but you still refuse to make your existence known. So, when we heard news that
GamePro magazine was proudly showcasing your
GoW2 name across its cover, we couldn't help but get tickled from within'. We thought, would GamePro be your tool for revealing yourself? Was this magazine our vessel for learning everything about you? Would you,
GoW2, finally accept our dinner invite after your GamePro debut? Then, suddenly, we realized that GamePro's
GoW2 teasing is probably nothing more than that ... speculative teasing.
An announcement as large as yours is guaranteed to be a cover story (sorry
RSV2), not a little mention on the side margin. Oh well. We'll see what GamePro says about you, our friend
GoW2, when it hits newsstands February 12th. But we have a feeling your secret will still not be known and you still won't be at the dinner table. We'll set a plate for you anyway.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

I'm waiting for the big moment when Marcus finally proposes to Dom. We need to get those two together, finally.
Anticrawl @ Feb 3rd 2008 3:49PM
Dom is already married, to a hermaphrodite named Maria.
JakubK666 @ Feb 3rd 2008 3:19PM
I assume that somebody will take one for the team and sent scans to 360fanboy.
SIC TR4NSIT @ Feb 3rd 2008 3:26PM
To further extend the rumor mill, Ive heard that the beta is supposed to be out in August.
Mikeawesome @ Feb 3rd 2008 3:30PM
I really really hope this is a game that comes out this year. If not, I hope it improves upon the previous game's flaws. Namely it has a story that GOES somewhere, and balances the gameplay a little bit better, especially in multiplayer.
Aero @ Feb 3rd 2008 3:30PM
Wow, that's a pretty bad logo.
Anticrawl @ Feb 3rd 2008 4:09PM
Gears of War 2
The COGs are back and this time they actually come across challanging boss battles.
Pyrobi @ Feb 3rd 2008 4:24PM
How could you make a tough boss battle with the GOW gamplay without simply giving him lots of health?
You know what I mean, cause it's pretty much taking your time popping up and down taking there health down till they drop, a la general RAAM.
Anticrawl @ Feb 3rd 2008 4:38PM
I'm not the game developer here. I want more challanging boss battles. Perhaps some enviromental actions to help weaken the boss or expose a weak point. There are plenty methods they could use. Most I do is design maps though, so what do I know haha. In any case they better figure something out. I was bored to tears with the terrible boss fights in Gears of War. Fun game though otherwise.
Pyrobi @ Feb 3rd 2008 5:09PM
I was getting at the gears gameplay, i mean, they need to add a fair few more gameplay elements for it to be really good i reckon, those environment actions hitting it's weak spot for massive damage sound like a lot of fun :)

What a cheap way to sell magazines.
Dick @ Feb 4th 2008 11:11AM
I thought that also
Do we fault X3F (JoyStiq) with this cheap shilling as well?
Itchy @ Feb 3rd 2008 6:31PM
I doubt that Gears would be announced on anything other than a cover story.
Easo @ Feb 3rd 2008 7:53PM
"Perhaps some enviromental actions to help weaken the boss or expose a weak point."
So you want more giant crab battles?
Edzo04 @ Feb 3rd 2008 10:14PM
couldnt give a shit about gears 2, the multiplayer sucked hard. RSV2 though, NOW THATS NEWS
SIC TR4NSIT @ Feb 11th 2008 1:57PM
Are you fucking kidding me? What else do you prefer? Halo 3? Viva Pinata? Gears came out in 2006 and is still one the MOST played games consistenly every week on XBL.
L @ Feb 3rd 2008 10:15PM
They just need to fix all the FOOkin cheats online >.< & it will be the best game online
EMOruffino @ Feb 3rd 2008 10:35PM
i cant wait to see them use the nicely updated unreal3 engine.... polish, polish, polish
ccc @ Feb 4th 2008 3:52AM
@Anticrawl
Its funny you said that about the boss battles.
Everytime I fought the boss down in the caves going through the various difficulty settings I always played Bob Seagers "Still the Same" to it everytime and it made the experience much more enjoyable.
mattclarkie @ Feb 4th 2008 6:39AM
I want to play GoW2, but I don't think I want it until next year. I still have a back-log of games from last year, and then the must haves like R6V2, DMC4, and many others from this year. I can't make any room for GoW2.
Erlend @ Feb 4th 2008 9:14AM
I want GOW2 now, and I want it underdone, in order to be bloody and hard to digest, and I want it with some red Locust sauce.
Sincerely yours,
Erlend
Big Wizz @ Feb 4th 2008 9:31AM
I want GoW-2 to have an age verifier. I'm sick of 8 and 10 years olds joining my matches.
Dick @ Feb 4th 2008 11:11AM
Whats your gamertag - I'm DS3M. I'm 24. I'm sick of GoW kidzzz also.
Josh @ Feb 4th 2008 9:57AM
They need to fix all of the glitches and then I'll be happy.
Maxi @ Feb 4th 2008 1:18PM
I love how dustin bums all this GOW stuff. Whats he gonna do when the franchise dies? (a long way to go I know). GOW was a great looking game but as for story it was mediocre, the online was bugged = mediocre and that action was fairly repetitive. Hopefully now that Epic have seen how well the franchise has done they can spread their wings abit and create something special :D
Not holding my breath tho :P
Deck @ Feb 5th 2008 12:38PM
Oh hellz yes!
