Shipping this week: Nero sans fiddle edition

Golly gee willickers there's a lot of games out this week. First of all, we should mention that Turok is officially out this week (though it was released early in some areas; we saw it at Blockbuster yesterday). The star of the show this week is probably Devil May Cry 4 though, what with its demon slaying antics and longstanding pedigree. But wait, what's this? There's more? Yes, it seems the post-holiday dearth has finally ended (for the moment anyway), as this week sees three more titles as well. All told we have:
- Devil May Cry 4
- Turok
- Culdcept Saga
- The Spiderwick Chronicles
- Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Encore

Huh? GameStop's in my town got our Turok's the 31st and were instructed to sell away, was it not that way for all?

The Turok demo killed my desire to pick it up. DMC is just a stoners button masher. I liked the Culdcept Saga demo but a game like that should be bought for a couple hundred MS points not $40 cash. Maybe I'll pick it up when it falls to $20 if anyone is still playing it on Live by then.

In my opinion the dearth will be present all the way up until April 29th when a game worthy of purchase will be available. Rock Band DLC should hold me off until then... :|

The Culdcept Saga demo has really grown on me. I can't pay $40 for it, but I will pick it up when the price falls.
On a different note, finally got to play Rock Band over the weekend, so I had to come home and order it :)

I hate to say it, but Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Encore may be my next purchase after DMC4. The girlfriend would love singing along to some pop tunes.

ill, I stand corrected. I kept playing the demo and it grew like crazy on me. I'll pick it up once my next paycheck hits. Send me an invite and I'll learn to play it "properly" :P . My gamertag is this name here.

I can't imagine anyone getting far in DMC by being a button masher...
Personally, I think I'm holding off this week until I read some reviews for Lost Odyssey.

I'll probably pick up Culdcept (and a little gem on PC called Sins of a Solar Empire)
Hit my gamertag up for Culdcept battles!

Woo - Culdcept!! I played it at PAX last year, and have been lusting after it ever since.
@ thisguyrighthere
If the fan scene for the previous version on PS2 is anything to go by, I think there'll be folk playing online Culdcept for a while. I intend on being one of those folks.
@ogvar
I've sent you a freind request - we'll hook up for some Culdcept fightery.

rockeranimefreak @ Feb 4th 2008 12:57PM
