New Xbox Originals: Ninja Gaiden Black, Sid Meier's Pirates! and BLACK
Eagle-eyed fanboy MageGriff noticed that on the XBLM, under the Xbox Originals section, are three newly new game additions that are "greyed out". The three new Xbox Original games (all of which do not include Conker or Jade Empire) have a release date set for February 11th and include (trumpets please) Ninja Gaiden Black, Side Meier's Pirates! and the shoot-fest that is BLACK. Again, these three new Xbox Originals are not available for download or purchase until the 11th, but are pretty much a release guarantee seeing that they're currently viewable on the Marketplace. Anyone up for some 1200 Microsoft point Ninja Gaiden?[Thanks, MageGriff]

I am tempted, it's just those lack of achievements....
I can remember the good old days when I used to play games for fun!!
Damn you Achievement Points! And damn you Gamerscore!

Controller throwing game of the year, here I come. Ninja Gaiden FTW!
mattclarkie @ Feb 5th 2008 9:14AM
I was planning to get Black when it came out, but it was for Xbox, so I didn't bother because I got a 360. I regret that I didn't, and would probably download it, but I don't have enough HDD to download it, so I might look for a pre-owned, that is if it is BC via retail disc.
ZenPlatypus @ Feb 5th 2008 9:33AM
Pirates and Ninjas! ZOMG!
Jer @ Feb 5th 2008 9:56AM
I can't wait to BEAT Black again.
colin @ Feb 5th 2008 7:29PM
i see what you did there, i wonder if anyone else did ...
Ben @ Feb 5th 2008 10:00AM
I bought Ninja Gaiden Black before I got my 360, but I always wanted Black. I can't decide whether or not to try out the Xbox Originals or find it used. Also, I'm so busy playing COD4 I don't want to play anything else!

Stop messing around and release KotOR already!
geekadelphia @ Feb 5th 2008 10:26AM
Awesome. Black was a great game.
Tony @ Feb 5th 2008 10:24AM
Pirates is awesome, but I found the PC version to be far superior.
Ujn Hunter @ Feb 5th 2008 10:34AM
If I didn't already own those games... and if they were cheaper... (you can get all of those games for under $10 each on disc...) I'd bite! ;)
Ninegauger @ Feb 5th 2008 10:36AM
I already picked up Black used... worst camera of any game I've played in like five years.
ryan @ Feb 6th 2008 12:48PM
worse? i thought it worked fine. whenever i couldn't see my attacker i'd switch positions. the game forced you to be as defensive as much as offensive. i personally thought the camera was great, it felt like i was in the midst of a fight.
Ninegauger @ Feb 5th 2008 10:37AM
Ninja Gaiden Black I mean...
craig64 @ Feb 5th 2008 10:47AM
I would be all over buying NGB and Sid Meier's if I had the bigger hard drive.... :@
SovietDancnBear @ Feb 5th 2008 11:06AM
Ninja Gaidan Black sounds like the pick of that. Plus I've seen it used for around 30 bucks.
Ryan @ Feb 5th 2008 12:02PM
I've heard rumors that the three GTA titles will be out in the next coming months. You'd think it'd be before 4/29 to coincide with the GTA IV release, just like with Burnout. If it does happen, those might be my first XBO purchases.
Keith @ Feb 5th 2008 1:12PM
Who ever said you can get disc copies of these games for under $10 hasn't actually checked. Ninja Gaiden is $9.99 used at Game Stop, but Ninja Gaiden Black is $24.99 used. Black is $17.99 used, and Pirates! is $19.99 used.
Makes 1200MP look like a pretty good deal.

Man fuck these achievementless poorly compressed games. Stop buying them and they'll either stop releasing them or add cheevos to them.
monkeymonkeymonkey @ Feb 5th 2008 2:54PM
any ideas how much space Ninja Gaiden Black will take up on the hdd.
ccc @ Feb 5th 2008 3:28PM
I am willing to bet it'll take up 2 to 3 gigs.
Fight the good fight @ Feb 5th 2008 6:21PM
my brother just bought ninja gaiden black disc at gamestop day before yesterday. While in good shape, the disc won't play.
Granted, some of these xbox originals cost more than you would spend buying them used, but with the downloads, you don't have to worry about messing up a disc that's already endured several years of punishment.
Despite not having achievements, the guarantee that the game will not just break one day makes the extra couple bucks worth it in my opinion. The convenience of just starting the game on the fly without having to sift through what could be quite an expansive library also shouldn't be overlooked.
That said, I want BLACK.

@fight the good fight
What about the poor memory compression?
Or the fact that certain parts in the game don't run right? You praise the fact that its not a disc, however, what about when your 360 dies on you, and it will, then you send it in and when you get a different one back, that game, thanks to DMR issuies, really isn't yours anymore unless you are logged into xbox live? What if in 10 years down the road there is no xbox live? You lose on all these points and are stuck with a game that has no resale value. The lack of updated graphics, current 360 xbox live dashboard functions, poor compression, the lack of gamerscore and achievements and overall shady preformance make the xbox original program a total loss. If they fixed these issues I would own over 6 of these games right now, if you are buying them, you're showing them that what they are doing works and your ultimately part of the problem.
Anodyne @ Feb 11th 2008 10:59AM
whatever dude. i wouldn't want to hang out with you under any circumstances. always complaining about something... finding fault in everything. maybe some people don't care about resale value in 10 years. and you make it sound like EVERY 360 breaks at some point. what a misanthrope. btw the game is 5.9 GB to download(NGBlack) so i don't think there will be many "compression" issues.
