Rock Band Stage Kit boxed in the flesh
Darkseide just been tipped us off that rather large pre-order boxes of the ever famous (and ridiculously overpriced) Rock Band Stage Kit have been popping up in various game stores the world over. The pics, which can be viewed in their own gallery below, not only further prove that the Stage Kit will add light and smoke effects to your Rock Band fun, but we now have an actual image of what the device will look like. And, to us, it looks like a hybrid between a police spot light and the robot from WALL•E. But that's just us. Take a look over the $99 Rock Band peripheral, weigh the pros and cons and imagine how much cooler your Rock Band sessions would be with a plume of smoke rising from the floor.Gallery: Rock Band Stage Kit
[Thanks, Darkseide]

Yeah, and for $100 an hour, you can get the rock band crowd. 10 people come over and you can crowd surf. It's way worth it.

Haha, I did see this a week ago when I went to Gamestop, I picked it up and was like What? Who would pay for this?

This is the Xbox 360's version of the Nintendo Powerglove.....Useless, however everyone buys it (because it looks bad@ss) and in the future everyone will be looking for it.....

how about the devs get the instruments working instead of wasting resources on this stuff : /
Ebola @ Feb 5th 2008 1:40PM
Useless!! And I'm with mountain on this one. It is partly EA after all, they'll do anything for a buck.

Obviously a niche peripheral for those *really* into game, or who play it at parties a lot.
It's more than a little wierd, but at the same time a dash of clever and awesome. How often do you see companies that put out an entire peripheral for a surround experience?
And supposedly the device syncs to the lighting and sound effects in game... thats pretty nice attention to detail.
mountaineer014 @ Feb 6th 2008 12:38PM
if its anything like the instruments it will work once MAYBE twice. then you will need to send it in for repair

Doesn't the AMBX stuff do all this anyway for loads of games? Well on PC anyway, but it's meant to be coming to consoles, isn't it?
