Mass Effect gets Bring Down the Sky DLC in March

Literally moments ago, BioWare announced that brand spanking new and flashy Mass Effect downloadable content will be headed to the XBLM on March 10th and boy oh boy is it juicy good.

The Mass Effect Bring Down the Sky DLC pack will cost 400 Microsoft points and expand upon the Mass Effect story by introducing a new world featuring the Batarian race. According to the description, Bring Down the Sky will feature over 90 minutes of additional gameplay where a "Batarian extremist group has hijacked a mobile asteroid station in the Asgard system, setting it on a collision course with the nearby colony world of Terra Nova" and (of course) "only Commander Shepard can save the millions of innocent civilians before the asteroid completes its deadly descent." Intense stuff.

The new DLC will also pack one new achievement worth 50 Gamerscore and is confirmed to be the first of many planned Mass Effect expansion packs. We guess Surfer Girl was right about this one.

meh, it must have been Chris Priestly telling everyone on the Mass Effect forums to "be around at about 10am tomorrow" which basically gave the whole thing away.

Having read the book that's not at all what I expected the Batarians to look like, but I do like the design.

Oh wow, now thats good value for dlc imo, fricking halo 3 with a mere 3 maps for 800 points, that you cant play in normal matchmaking because not everyone owns them. complete rip. A whole new world, race and most likely new items 400 points. bargain!

Very hard for me to get excited about 90 minutes of gameplay. I'd rather them bundle it up with some other things and make it a bit more extensive.

W to the OOT!

I'm on playthrough 3, trying desperately to get to level 60 (only got to 41 on the first and 50+ish on the second - now only 30,000 xp to go! and I still have Virmire and Ilos!)

I'm going to get the Turian and Krogan assist this time, next playthrough I'll get the Sentinel and Asari assist, which will cover those off. Renegade will be this time, too.

Then I need to go through and get all the Biotic skills, then all the Tech skills.

Then Insanity, which I'll do with my lvl 60 soldier, but I'm still nervous about - although Hardcore hasn't been THAT hard (once I equiped the right armor)

I still don't know how I screwed myself out of Scholar all 3 times, but I'll fix that ;) 20 minutes on Casual with my level 60? Yeah, it'll be all good.

Sigh - I'm going to have put in a CRAPLOAD of hours into this game. Yeep.

ANd people think I'm crazy. Hah. HAH. HAaah...

Is it just me or, for those that have customized their Shep, nothing else is good enough. I want a gamerpic of MY shep. I don't even want to buy the statue because it's not MY shep!

It sucks!

You need to be more thorough. On my second playthrough (thus having levels 51-60 unlocked), I reached Level 55 with a start-from-scratch character.

I wasn't the first playthrough, and had I hit level 50 that time around, I would have easily hit 60 in my second. i also used the Mako to pretty much turf everything. And for me to have advanced about 16 levels in the second playthrough is pretty good, because when I hit level 59, it was about 200k xp from 60, or something insane like that. So just because you hit 55 from a scratch character doesn't mean that much, I think it takes a full playthrough to get those last few levels, because of the extent of XP needed once you're that high.
