Pac-Man CE nominated for 2008 GDCAs

Please, step back in time with us. Let's say it's February 2007, one year ago. A bedraggled, foul smelling man, wearing a sign that reads "The End is Nigh," approaches you and grabs you violently by the collar. He leans in close, his sour whisky breath burning your nostrils, and whispers, "One year from now, Pac-Man will be nominated for a Game Developers Choice Award!" The breath is so strong that you shut your eyes tight. Upon reopening them, the man is gone. You question your sanity, wondering if he was even real. A Pac-Man game nominated in 2008? Preposterous!
Rest assured, he was real, and he was right. Namco Bandai Games have announced that Pac-Man Championship Edition, released in June 2007, has been nominated for Best Downloadable Game in the eighth annual Game Developers Choice Awards, which are set to take place during the Game Developers Conference later this month. Best Downloadable Game of 2009? Dig Dug. You heard it here first.

Wow. Honestly though, it deserves it. Pac-Man CE gets more playtime from me than... well, most 360 games I own (which isn't to say I don't like the other games, PMCE is crack though)

Awesome. I was surprised how many places kind of glossed over this title when it first released and it's been nice seeing it appear on so many year end lists and other things. Great game.

Where the frick do I even get this game? I tried to look for it on XBLA and couldn't find it. I found some old pac-man game, but not this one.

Oops. June it was. Fixed.

Very much deserved. Pac Man CE is absolutely awesome. This shows the franchise didn't have to stray much from it's original format to be relevant these days, and should be an example of how to not 'fix' what isn't broken. Prince of Persia on XBLA also falls into that category.

Easily in the top 5 XBLA games available, and quite possibly #1.

They hyped it up WAY too much, I think that hurt it. It is a fantastic game, and it is the first true sequel to Pac-Man. I love it.
