Rainbow Six won't see Vegas again

It looks like what happens in Vegas really will stay in Vegas, as Ubisoft designer Philippe Therien recently told Eurogamer that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will mark the last entry in the series to be set in the city. "We really feel that the story of Vegas is done. We've explored as much of Vegas as we wanted. For now, we're pretty much covered with Vegas," said Therien. Therien added that having Rainbow Six focus on a single city worked well, but that the team is unsure if future installments will be based on a similar concept. So, if you want more Vegas, your last shot hits shelves on March 21. Next stop, Rainbow Six Stringtown.

Yeah, Rainbow Six Stringtown would be GREAT! The team would be tracking a rogue horse thief. Breaching barns and outhouses, finally ending with a tense standoff at the waffle house.

How about Rainbow Six Cyrodiil?
C'mon, I can't be the only one who wants to play Oblivion with a sniper rifle.

Well it looks like your wish has been granted. It's called Fallout 3.
Microswirl @ Feb 10th 2008 1:34PM
Yeah, I think you're right, Fall Out 3 will probably turn out to be what Mass Effect SHOULD have been: Futuristic Oblivion. At least the inventory system won't completely suck.

Boy I sure hope they set the entirety of the next R6 in Mexico. Because that hasn't gotten old yet!

The CEO of Ubisoft was raped by a Mexican as a child so I don't see the Mexican hatred Ubisoft protrays will stop anytime soon. You are always killing mexicans in atleast half of their shooters.

Rainbow Six Vegas was brilliant. As long as Vegas 2 plays as well as Vegas, I am sold, in fact I have a pre-order down.
Maybe some of the more irritating fire fights could be removed, such as where you are being shot from 5 different directions including from UP with you team mowed down if you order them to do anything, while you cower behind a door sniping as many as you can, and then while using smoke and frags manage to break through and reach a checkpoint. I made it sound more fun than it really is.
I think a Focused Fire System, where you order your team to stay behind cover, and then lay down some fire on a person, or just blind-fire to give you cover would be a good addition, and is realistically what a team such as the Rainbows would do. Why can't you order them to fire on someone without them running into a cross-fire?

I think Lax or Atl or JFK airports would be good. Or empire state building..LA would also allow a shoot out on a cruise ship.
