GDC08: 2 new GTAIV trailers released

Hot of the heels of nine new screenshots, Rockstar released two new trailers for their upcoming GTAIV. The first trailer above is titled Phil Bell and is shows how Philly-boy solves his problems - with a baseball bat. After the jump you'll be treated to the second trailer, Dilettante Hybrid Trailer, which attempts to sell you on the future of Hybrid cars in Liberty City.

It's funny, i saw the screenshots, and thought to myself the graphics are blocky. But seeing in game footage, and hearing that dialog makes me look forward to the game. I was disappointed with San Andreas, but i am looking forward to this one.

I love the dude getting smashed by the car in the second clip. Nothing new for GTA, but still funny. Now that's good advertising for an eco-friendly car!

1. Metal Gear 4: The game looked awesome in 2005 but now looks just like anyother NG title.
2. Gears 2: You could be right but for many GOW was short and the multiplayer was shallow.
3. Final Fantasy: You really think this game will come out in 2008? Quit kidding yourself.
4. Resistance 2: If Resistance was released on the 360 it would have been forgotten by now. Just because they said that Resistance 2 will have all those features I wouldn't hold my breath

GTAIV has the best chance to be a mass success that goes beyond the hardcare gamers. Fuck, my dad plays GTA games.

I wonder if CJ, Tommy Vercetti, or Claude are going to have cameos in this one. Tommy would be quite a bit older now, and CJ would be pushing 40, I believe... IF the game's canon allows that he survived SA.

I still play GTA:SA --- Say what you will, but the sandbox format is the best for games. This is why I hate Gears of War; It feels like I'm on a 'track' when I play it, as if I'm on a ride at Disneyworld. It's pretty, and high-tech, but I can't get off the track to explore it. With the GTA games, you can go anywhere and do almost anything. I like having that sort of freedom.
