If you still haven't found the time to download all seven free
XNA Community Game trials then we ask, why the heck not? These game trials are only available on a very limited basis. Originally, they were only available for download until this Sunday and playable through March 9th when they'll turn into non-playable lumps of megabytes. But we've just been informed that the download period has
been extended to Tuesday, February 26th at midnight pacific due to a few GDC attendees complaining that they wouldn't be home before the download deadline. So, that's good news for fanboys who are die-hard procrastinators or those who are away from home (possibly on vacation) until Monday. Now you have absolutely no reason not to
download and try these XNA Community Games. If anything, you'll have to at least try
The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai,
Little Gamers and
JellyCar just for us. Go. Download. NOW!

TriLinea consistently crashes my 360 whenever I try to play it. All the other games work fine, but this specific one just hangs at a black screen indefinitely when I launch it. I've tried redownloading it several times... has anyone else had this problem?
Peeeet @ Feb 23rd 2008 12:28AM
no crashing problems with trilinea, but I've tried to start up little gamers multiple times on different days, afte ersing & redownloading etc., and it crashes forever every time. Well, maybe not FOREVER, but I think 15 minutes should be more than enough time...
Big Filth @ Feb 22nd 2008 2:58PM
I downloaded the viewer or the player or whatever it was you needed to play these games, then when I try to dl the games it brings me to the screen to DL that thing again but its already checked that I have it.
I just want to dl a game, please help!
(im crying)

Your dl it in the wrong place. Your problem is that your going through the link in the home blade (to the left of my library blade). Goto through xbox live blade-new arrivals-games-xna ( I think this is the path, im not on my xbox now).

I've had a couple seem to hang, but if I give them a minute or so they always to boot up. I've played TriLinea a couple of times, but it desperately needs instructions.
ZEBRA NINER @ Feb 22nd 2008 3:07PM
Yeah, that might help... although, it doesn't seem like the kind of game I'll have much fun with.
I hope everyone gives these games a chance, there are a couple of gems in there.
Digital Limit @ Feb 22nd 2008 3:45PM
TriLinea seems pretty poopy.
Proximity was a fun strategy game, but lacked personality.
Jelly Car rapes lives (I've seriously put the most time into that game, despite the limited scope, i.e. one tiny level).
Dishwasher also rapes lives, but I wish it was more of a platformer. Eh, eh.
And that cartoony game with weapons didn't really do anything for me.
thesimplicity @ Feb 22nd 2008 4:38PM
I'm pretty sure JellyCar has more than one level... I thing pressing left or right on the title screen lets you cycle through them.
Digital Limit @ Feb 22nd 2008 8:49PM
Lol, I had no idea!
I figured up and down merely scrolled through the menu.
*goes and plays more Jelly Car*
Jcarpio @ Feb 22nd 2008 4:03PM
The one i'm most addicted to is ProximinityHD. Sure there is no personality, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it.
The only one i didn't like (with the exception of trilinea since i didn't play that much) is rocketball. Too simplistic when compared to the other releases.
giantenemycrab @ Feb 22nd 2008 4:29PM
Damn RRoD ;_;
Blue_Falcon @ Feb 22nd 2008 6:19PM
Everything they can do to allow more people to play Dishwasher, they should.
Hell, they should just release it right now. There hasn't been this much positive press on an original XBLA game since...ever?
Grimm @ Feb 22nd 2008 6:38PM
@ Digital Limit
Jelly Car has like 5 levels...at the screen you pick your level at press up and down and it will change levels. Also not geared at Digital but the easiest way to download the XNA games is from the XNA Creators Club option that unlocks in "My Games" once you dl the file. From that option just press "Y" to Download Games.
rockeranimefreak @ Feb 22nd 2008 7:17PM
Dishwasher is awesome! =)
Little Gamers is something that would piss off Mr.Thompson but is fun nonetheless...
I haven't tried the others yet.
Lewis @ Feb 22nd 2008 10:00PM
Don't waste your time on RocketBall and Trilinea
I Found Proximity quite fun against a friend.
Pieman523 @ Feb 22nd 2008 10:27PM

Boff @ Feb 24th 2008 12:06PM

All these games are useless. Theres a plethora of free pc games I woudl rather play over these. That said, the best developed game is the dishwasher. Its not entertaining however since it focuses on blood and repeat combos. I guess if you like beat em ups you will like it but personally I was bored after 2 minutes. Deffenitly the most put together and "ready" game. Jellycars is the worst of them all. Its hardly built (cant even go to the main menu from within a game or restart or anything). It seems ok but the graphic sytle is annoying and it feels so cheap.
Proximity HD is a rip off of another game already except now with numbers added. rocketball is the lamest dodgeball game ever with only 2 positions and throw/block. Theres no free vertical movement, bah.
The culture game seemed like an interestign theory but all 3 games had extreme FPS lag. cant handle that many flowers onscreen at once. That tetris puzzle type game seemed ok, but was not fun. Little people was fun for a short while, but needed to utalize the second stick so you can aim and shoot at the same time. The story and concept feels like it was written by 10 year olds tho.
Overall XNA looks like it will be a great edition. Unfortunetly, these 7 games they chose to showcase (supposedly the best ones) just arnt worth playing, even for free. I fear these games represent what XNA will be about, 1000 crappy games to 1 good game worth your time. Like newgrounds :p
