Dead Space scares 360 on Halloween
Eurogamer reports that Electronic Arts has announced the official release date for Dead Space, the upcoming survival horror title ... in space. Appropriately enough, the game will be hitting both U.S. and European shelves on Halloween 2008 (that's October 31). We suggest that gamers everywhere make it part of their haunted house attractions during the festivities. Along with the witch's hair (spaghetti) and eyeballs (grapes), Dead Space should make the perfect horrific accessory for Halloween. You could even set it up on the porch in lieu of a scarecrow. The only question now is whether Dead Space will be scary because it's good or because it's bad. Here's hoping for the former.

Gonna be a nice title, at least what I've seen of it so far.

This looks cool. I saw a little write up in a magazine and it looks interesting. I hope it turns out!
So Richard... where is my fancast?

It looks like it is going to be multi platform, so the graphics will be held back by the PS3's limited shader and slow fill rate... As happens on all of these multi platform games. Still might be a fun rental though.

Yes, really, and it is a scandal, at least it should be. Here is an example of a game that suffered because it was cross platform.

Now in spite of the developer making every effort to make the versions identical, the xbox version STILL looks a little sharper, more detailed with better contrast.
But what is missing? All the beautiful shader effects we are treated to on xbox exclusives. Like the water in Bioshock. Or the HDR lighting in Halo 3 with those wondrous explosions. Or the film grain in Mass effect.
Since we haven't seen a game with those modern shader or vertex effects a year and a half on, on the ps3, and none of their upcoming games seem to have them either perhaps it is time to start listening to the developers and engineers on this matter.
The PS3 is simply not capable of those effects.
As an XBox enthusiast, I am now suffering for it. The developers are making games for the LCD which is the PS3.
This game will be yet another example of EA making a game for the LCD PS3. Which means... It won't be as compelling as the exclusives.
Not a pot shot, just stating the facts.

This has nothing to do with this article. But i have just gotten news that ms has discontinued the halo3 consoles "naturally" They are dropping a GTAIV console around launch of gtaiv.
My source isnt super reliable but they have predicted shit in the past.

"Cautiously optimistic" would be my feeling about this game, at this time. All the factors are in place to make this a very good/great game, let's hope EA doesn't screw it up somehow.
