Xbox 360 Fancast 057 -- Gee Dee Cee

Well, Fanboys, we're back from GDC and we've brought gifts. No, not physical gifts, but audio gifts. Specifically, we've recorded a brand new Xbox 360 Fancast. Even more specifically, we've landed interviews with Bill Dugan from Torpex games (creators of Schizoid) and James Silva, creator of the amazing Dishwasher: Dead Samurai. And of course we also spend some time talking about the best things we saw at GDC. You may download the podcast in your format of choice below. Oh, and don't forget to check out our interview with Peter Molyneux that we published earlier this week.

Glitch W @ Feb 26th 2008 7:50PM
cool guests, is 7 the new episode for guests until ep 70?
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 26th 2008 8:19PM
Last few weeks have been super busy. This one was delayed thanks to GDC. Hopefully we'll be back on the Monday track next week.
CapNJunkie @ Feb 26th 2008 7:50PM
The iTunes link doesn't seem to be working.
It's referencing 360fancase-057-22708.mp3 (link on your site is to "360fancase-057-22608.mp3"). I'm guessing the interview fancast bumped a number or something.
CapNJunkie @ Feb 26th 2008 7:52PM
I should clarify I'm talking about within iTunes store itself, the link to this weeks show is erroring out.
Ben Larson @ Feb 26th 2008 8:00PM
I'm having the same problem, cant get it in iTunes
Xav de Matos @ Feb 26th 2008 8:13PM
Shot an email over to the boss and we'll try to get that fixed asap for you guys. In the meantime please feel free to download the enhanced or regular mp3 and enjoy the show!
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 26th 2008 8:18PM
Sorry guys. Problem with the enclosure tag. Should be fixed once iTunes updates the feed.
OBM @ Feb 26th 2008 8:08PM
I don't mean to be a knob head AGAIN, but the amount of time you spent writing that comment, you could have downloaded the MP3 and just added it to iTunes. This is what I do anytime it doesn't work.
CapNJunkie @ Feb 26th 2008 8:26PM
Well someone had to write it... so it may as well have been me.
I take your point, but being the IT type guy I know that how long it takes someone to complain about something has no bearing on how long it would have taken them to choose an alternate method.
ZEBRA NINER @ Feb 26th 2008 8:16PM
w00t! Will download now!!!!
Brian @ Feb 26th 2008 8:22PM
So, when are we getting an enhanced AAC feed?
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 26th 2008 8:26PM
Just as soon as we can get the devs to set up a new RSS feed. They've got a lot of things on their plate, so no promises. Hopefully soon though.
Brian @ Feb 26th 2008 8:28PM
Great. I was just hoping that hadn't been forgotten.
james.e.silva @ Feb 26th 2008 8:58PM
Oh no, not that James Silva again...
Gloqwi @ Feb 26th 2008 9:03PM
Oh my godz. This is the first time I've downloaded the AAC version of your podcast, I don't know if that's it but these switching photos at different times on my iPod is awesome! GG! GG!

CONFIRMED! Richard is leaving to go be a PR guy for James Silva.
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 26th 2008 10:17PM
Really? Why? Did he tell you something?
I mean ... not like I'm interested or anything ...
Xav de Matos @ Feb 26th 2008 10:24PM
There have been rumblings on UtterBS.com
LOL
DeceasedFriend @ Feb 27th 2008 2:03AM
Just to let you all know, the Zune Marketplace is still using the old podcast art.
...Both this and Joystiq's art stretch on my screen...
=(
roothless toothless @ Feb 27th 2008 7:27AM
to Danny
please stop posting that crap its not funny
Neuromancer @ Feb 27th 2008 11:19AM
You guys don't put the fancast out in enough different formats. You should release a special midi version.
;D
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 27th 2008 11:21AM
That would be neat. Sort of like interpretive dance only with beeps and boops.
petersjov @ Feb 28th 2008 2:24AM
Yeees, it`s true, Dustin is King ;-D
Rob Cannon @ Feb 28th 2008 12:32PM
You guys spent the first few minutes of the podcast complaining about Microsoft's cut in XBLA royalties. You neglected to mention, they also cut the up-front fees to developers (they pay the ESRB fee, for instance). This, to me, sounds like it benefits the small developer as they don't have to have a pile of up front cash when it comes time to publish.
I haven't done the math on the final result of all of this so it could still add up to a net-cut for the developer, but I think you missed a key part of the story.

Guys, 4 people on Skype is way too much. You are talking over each other all the time. Richard, getting rid of David was a great move. And I like Xav and Alexander a lot. But, please have only 3 total podcasters at a time. Personally, I'd like to listen to a weekly show with you, Xav and then one of the two girls. Thanks.
